How did you manage the green eyes? Did you shade it in with a green colour pencil?

Nah, actually, the whole drawing is grey. I filter the drawing first after I'm done drawing it. (I somehow like this soft yellow, so I always use this.) I Photoshop the eyes a little after that.

I have to say ... that you are a master at the drawing the male ... and you continue to improve! This particular pose is natural and appealing.

I love how you shade the body contours so smoothly ... there is no harshness here ... smooth just like skin. The eyes have a true "sparkle" [Oh! that I could get models to have that in my photos!].

There may be a slight "balance" problem with the nose ... but remember: most humans are not perfect in some way or other. I love this ... I adore your work. Carry on ... with the spectacular talent you have ... and we will all be the beneficiaries of the beauty you create with a pencil + eraser + paper + time.

Thanks for a very long critique. Again, I can see you took time to type it. I'm feeling a little bit bad that I can't sometimes do the same for you. DX

Hope you can bear with just favourites and some compliment once in a while?

I've checked the reference already. And I decided that it's as close as it can be already. Thanks though. I might seem like a stubborn artist, but I've been checking and fixing before you see it, as you can see in the comment above, hope this works as an excuse? Forgive me, OK?

BTW, I don't have much to do with pose. You give me too much credit. My talent is nothing without the photographers like you who took these pics for magazines. DX

I do not expect you to keep commenting ... how bored you would be by that! Just happy that you do your watch of my gallery.

As to your drawing and poses ... actually, I cannot give you enough credit! Most artists work from something whether a life model, a friend, a photo or illustration in a magazine. You actually translate that to paper using your eye, brain and hand. It is a tremendous talent and skill ... you do not need any artificial devises (like cameras) to reproduce what you see. I certainly could not do what you do ... which is why I admire both you and your work.

None of the time you spend drawing is wasted ... you are creating something beautiful for all to appreciate.

the shading is very impressive and adds a great sense of realism. Very well drawn, the line work is very neat and well presented. Excellent work indeed

Nice work Ant, the whole picture has a healthy glow about it that gives a really nice smooth skin look. The green tint is nice too. Is full view the actual size?

Yes, on 1024x768 resolution, 17" screen, it's roughly the same size. The actual pic is a little bigger though, and in B&W. And thank you.

Lovely, despite the nose, being imperfect is what makes us unique.

His lips look a liiiitle big, or maybe the need to be more defined from the teeth... I dunno.

I was looking forward to the green eyes

anthonydraco In reply to gdpr-864626 [2006-07-03 02:01:39 +0000 UTC]

I tried that, actually. But too green eye is not natural. An eye can be green only to some extent. This pic's overall color is kinda close to the eye color, so that's why it's hard to tell, IMO.
