Wow, just...wow, I'm not sure why, but this seems almost more real than reality is, crystal sharp and clear. I Love It!

I adore how the water came out in this one! It looks just like gel. I don't know if you meant to make the knife or the strawberry stick out more in this one, but I like the knife more. The lighting hits it nicely.

I have two more versions of this picture. It was very difficult choosing between them.
Here's one other version. The strawberry is better lit, the water splits, light and dark, and flows in an oval, but the back wall lacks water droplets.

The one I put up has great water droplets on the back and I like the way the water touches the cup -- the cup isn't even wet yet.
Tell me which you prefer

I can really see how you found it difficult to choose between them. I love the water droplets in this one, but I love the lighting and balance better in the second one. All of the things you pointed out are wonderful details to each photograph, I just wish we could smush them together XD Take the water droplets from this one and place them in the back of the second one. I think I prefer the second one more though. Fruits just don't seem right in a photograph unless they are bright and colorful lol. And I also like how the water is captured as it falls. I also love the lighting around the base of the cup (I have a bad thing for lighting, can you tell?). Both are wonderful photographs. They've got some really interesting shapes inside them.

ahh, glad to have another opinion. I think I'll submit the other one in a few days (because I'm too indecisive myself to just submit one =/ ).
just thinking people might be bored of the idea by then

lmao you could submit the same photograph 10 times in one week and I bet it'd still get atleast 10 faves on each one, with 5 more watchers each time XD Trust me, they aren't going to get bored. You are the boss of what goes here not them.
o.o and thats not an insult that's supposed to be a compliment XD.

heh lighting is the more important element in this shot, though

Woa, nice. I just did some strawberry shots. None of them turned out quite as clear as this one. This picture has perfect lighting.

I'd buy one, but I need so much else. And they all cost money, lol.

i feel you. =/ i was deciding between infrared filter, ND filter, and the external flash. picked the flash

Yeah, I think I'd go with the flash too. Filters are good, but the flash is more important. I don't know. I just got my camera, plus two lenses, and that set me back a little bit. And now I need a new tri-pod . Plus, I'm going away next month... and I want a new camera case... Ugh, so many things, so little money. lol. Do you do photography professionally?

I know how it is =/
Nah, I take pictures, my stuff goes in galleries sometimes, but it's not my profession. I don't want to shoot at a portrait studio in Wal-Mart or take weddings. Very few people get to be that photographer who travels the world and gets paid for it. Guess I'll see what the future holds...
What camera and lenses did you get?

Haha, I'm hoping I can work for a news paper, an add company, or something like that. Then maybe someday, I can be what I want to be in photography.
I got an Olympus E-500. Then the 14-45mm and the 40-150mm lenses. It was a great kit, and it's an awesome camera. Almost professional grade. It doesn't seem to be as popular as the Canon 350D or the Nikone D50 (or D70), but it's just as good as both. You use the D200, right?

Hm, yeah. I love Olympus though. I think if I had the money, I would have gone with the D200.
