Maybe because he can see beyond the honeyed smile that adorns her glistening red lips. Her seductive, sultry expression doesn't reach her eyes. Throughout the entire performance, each sequin, each lace, she hadn't once looked directly at the crowd. Her eyes were somewhere far away from this dimly lit pleasure hall. Shadow knew how to read each and every movement and gesture his opponents could make, and each of her lurid movements possessed a telltale fluidity, a sort of robotic cadence. He knew muscle memorization when he saw it. His mind began to assemble the pieces of what he knew about this voluptuous performer, and he did not like the conclusions he was drawing. He had to test something. So he drew out two $100 notes and placed them on the stage in front of him (log in G.U.N. report under: necessary expenditure). The act proved just enough to bring her mind back to this room, just enough to cause her to look in Shadow's direction. And for just a few seconds, he could see into her eyes directly. He looked into pools of regret and hopelessness, and his theory was complete. This wasn't arousing. This was sickening. He heard a low whistle from his right. The Blue Hedgehog had just noticed the $100 notes. "Jeez, Shadow. I didn't know you had it in you." He and the Echidna chortled to one another. The fools couldn't even see. Another voice reached his ears, causing him to look up. She was standing directly in front of him, letting her ample hips sway fluidly from side to side, never losing the rhythm of the pounding music. "You like what you see?" The words dripped from her mouth in a well-rehearsed purr. He heard no love in those words, only desperation. He rose to his feet, and placed another note on the floor in front of her. "No." He felt sick. He turned on his heel and strode from the club, leaving three very confused people in his wake.
