Description
Elsa Sorensen, Miss Denmark 1965, by Andre de DienesLooking at Scott Ellington's repost of Sorensen's Wiki article in the comments, I went to the original and although it says she was Miss Denmark (which is what everyone hears), the Miss Denmark page does not mention her. I suppose she might have used another name. But 1965 (which again is common on the internet) is too late in any case if she was born in 1934 and this picture was taken in 1954

Thanks for calling our collective attention to a couple of imaging treasuries, particularly that of Marilyn Monroe's Christopher Columbus.

"Marilyn Monroe's Christopher Columbus"
I see what you mean, but while I consider de Dienes to be the greatest photographer of the post-war era, I always thought that his MM pictures were mediocre compared to the rest of his work, and indeed some photos of her by other photographers.

I'll take your better-acquainted word, but then, that's exactly why I'm following your posts; to put current claims of
"innovative", "visionary", "avant-garde" and "brilliant" in sane perspective and valid historic context. Because
"new&improved" is often an oxymoron. And MM pictures put a lot of butts in seats.
