I don't know about that, but I don't think of poetry as a contest anyway.Β  I think each person who writes gets better the more they write, but there are so many ways to be a good writer, and I think what's important is finding your own way and your own voice.

I've always heard, that the more you write, the better you get.Β  That's been true for me, at least.Β 

I am pretty sure that you will always be better at drawing than I am (although that's not saying much since I can't draw very well AT ALL).Β

I can see how your drawing has improved since then, but I don't think that drawing is bad.Β  In any case, anytime we create something bad (or even just not as good as we know it could be), that's often an important step towards creating something better later on.Β  No one starts out creating something great quickly or without any effort.Β  All art is something you get better at doing the more you do it.
