Description
I made this last semester but never got to take it home until now (because of the art show). This was supposed to be abstract art, using textures the teacher provided us with. I went outside to get some of my own materials such as the grass, stick, and leaves. It was during the Winter season though so the grass was dead. I painted it green to match the background. It was extremely hard gluing the grass to the picture and took many many tries. The cut up photo is from Flickr. There's a string going across the picture, the bottom is torn up newspaper that's been painted over and the little cock at the corner is from a National Geographic magazine.I didn't really like this project because there is very few abstract art I like. As you can tell this didn't really end up being all that abstract, because it still forms a picture. It's called perspective because the magnifying glass shows a different perspective. I tried to switch the colours, for example the sky in the picture is blue and the flowers are yellow. The background I swapped so that the sky is yellow and the grass is blue. The mountains I Just made red. Then I tried to fit the exact picture into the background so that it looked like it was really the same picture, only the magnifying glass was portraying a different perspective of the same thing.
All this was glued and painted onto canvas paper.
So last semester was like...Decemberish
