Description Your Word

Your word is lovely and pure
It is the most refreshing spring
A well so hidden within the dirt
That you have to dig to find it
A drop of hope regains our strength
It is a treat from our Maker
It awakens the deepest sleep
It seeps through our skin
And soaks as nutrients into the bone marrow
I can drink till I am quenched and still crave more
It is a cave of depth that leads down forever
A place of rest, of quiet, of dreams
The soul is refreshed by its wisdom
And the life continually flows like a river
Your word is pure and lovely
How it delights the dejected heart
Healing ointment that seeps into its deepest crevices
It is the heart of life; pulsing blood into shriveling arteries
A flood where streams have run dry
Yes your word is the best medicine!
It flowers like a new born bud and yet never withers
It is still as white as the wool of an innocent lamb
Never browning where frost touches its tips
Your word is lovely and pure
It gives rest to the weary and energy to the weak
It is the light in the deep
The butterfly that dances upon the ashen gravestone
It is the falling rain that swallows the mountains whole
And the rainbow that rides the storm
It shines through you as if you are transparent
Cutting deep until at the essence of who you are is left exposed
A window into another reality
It is the lens of a telescope gazing into the stars
Your pages are rich with hope
Yes your word is overflowing with joy!
Your word is lovely and pure
There is a web of safety that cloaks those who love its words
Though others will look on as if it’s a trap
No it is the safe harbor, the lighthouse that leads one out of frothing, hungering waves
The ship groans with the weight and burdens of its surroundings
The waves thrash at its side ferociously, like a pack of ravenous wolves
But there is a relief in the light that leads to the stable shore
Yes a place the waves can’t touch!
It is an ocean and we are all drowning
Earthquakes tear apart the things we’ve known, the dazzling structures we’ve built
But we cling onto it like the lip of a cliff with an abyss yawning below us
We cross over it like a bridge to paradise
Your word is lovely and pure
None can measure its worth
It is a treasure melded in-between the pages of a book
Hiding away within the worn cover like a treasure chest
Treasure that can’t be held yet clings with you forever
Yes it ingrains itself and writes itself upon the heart
Hard to swallow at times, the bitterness is often recoiling
But like medicine offers the most nourishing relief
Temporarily alighting a smile until the next spoonful
The taste is sometimes prickling like the skin of a kiwi
The taste of medicine is not appealing at first
But the long lasting effects can make anyone skip for joy
For what once left you weak with hunger has filled you with energy
And overtime is as delightful as the tender flesh of a ripe plum
Out of the ashes of oneself springs a tender shoot
It strengthens with time and nourishment, branching into a tree
When its time comes it will shed its skin to produce blossoms and fruit for all to enjoy
Your word is lovely and pure
It is a hot spring that creeps up through the frost of the hard ground
The silent dance of the snowflake in its delicate song
A deep intake of air after being deprived of oxygen
Yes your word is a song!
It weaves a tale everlasting of things past, is, and not yet seen
It is the salt that brings flavor to life
Yes a crystal that is dissolved to savor
I wear it like a crown
A crown of mountains that rim the wondrous lands
Yes its knowledge can’t be contained
Your word is lovely and pure
A tepid kiss from the rays of a honeycomb sun
Yes it pours purity and innocence over my head like a reviving waterfall
And I am quickly caught up in it
Like basked in moonlit silver
Yes your word is abounding in riches!
Its taste is sweet once the tongue has developed
Its aroma enticing once it is detected
It’s sound soothing and invigorating once the ears have tuned in with it
There is a whisper of praise in the twisting breeze
There is a swaying in the hills
Such a fulfilling gift our God has revealed to us!
For he gives the same gift to all and yet no gift can be greater
Yes your word is a gift!
Your word is lovely and pure
Yes because it promises that you are near
And if that is the truth
Then truly what do we have to fear?
