Evening all... I'd been taking some reference shots of my wonderful wife, to either use for drawing practice when she's asleep (increasingly common now) or just to have close to me when we can't be together. No fun being apart...There were many more photos from the session, some of which feature her behind the camera, and the best of which I hope to be able to post here as drawings.
This capture stood out as being good enough to possibly feature as a photograph. The image here is pretty much unchanged from its brief trip into photoshop. The composition and levels are as captured, but I've toned down the harshness of the single light source (a 500W decorators lamp) using a semi transparent masked guassian blur.

This is considerably closer to how she looks than anything I've managed. Its my fault for choosing such a beautiful partner

Its odd. She used to hate having her photo taken, but after much encouragement has slowly been able to relax and allow more of her personality to shine through. For my part in this deviation, I've only really had to point the camera at her and push the button. My camera skills have only really diluted the emotion you see in her. You should see it face to face in the flesh. Its stunning.
Mind you. I will take credit for the choice of bracelet. Its one of her Xmas presents from me

Mind you, all these people exclaiming surprise at her beauty makes me fear I may have done a bit of an Fogarty on her with my previous drawings. She really is a lot prettier than I've ever managed to record

I like to think they have a prescient quality about them. I can see the future Evey in a lot of them... The good ones show how she'll look tomorrow. The less good ones, 30 years or so
Oh, and for the record, I'm taking fogarty to a wider audience. There's a couple of polish guys I work with regularly who have already adopted it. I'm not entirely sure they don't realise its not absolutely standard english vocabulary, but I guess this is how language evolves. Only fair to let you know

Pregnancy is an emotional roller coaster and only yesterday she was trying to convince me she has the body of a whale and the head of a greasy potato...

Annoying as it is, I've really got to give Evey the credit for this one. Any successes are more attributable to how she reflects light, than the way I've positioned things. Pregnancy gives such a wonderful bloom to her.

Thanks for this. There's something about Evey that's quite extraordinary. That lamp normally throws a really harsh glare, but put my wife infront of it and suddenly its a halo. Makes me wonder whether all the time I spent in my teens learning photography would have been better spent looking for her
