Description

A remake of the Duke (2013) , which itself was a remake of the Duke (2009) , one of my first completed 3D models. Built using a modified Newton Basis, the same used in the Maxwell , Vesper and Richter . The frame has been scaled up, with the Duke having a height around 16 meters compared to the Maxwell, which is around 14 meters not including the head fins. Changes made to the frame outside of the scale include the elbow (It can now rotate at the elbow joint), wrist and ankle joints, as well as the inclusion for a cockpit space I omitted from the original Newton Basis (Have yet to design that bit). Whereas most Newton models have their cockpit attached to the back, this one is fully in the upper torso area.

This particular Duke is designed to operate within the same universe as the Kestrel and Maxwell. It carries over most of the original Duke's design functions, with shoulder-mounted guns, and an arm-mounted particle sword (Newer tech in the Maxwell universe), though it only has one this time, as well as the same chest-mounted "power injection system" that gives it a considerable boost to its total power output, seen here: Tetratone Power Injection System .

External weapons include a large Shield Lance with a built-in double-barrel particle gun, as well as a Shrill Sword (same concept as the one used on the Maxwell, shown here: AM-X403 Maxwell Action Pose , which is essentially a type of oscillating blade (vibration sword), shown here with front and back views: Duke Armed (Front and Back) .

Overall, quite pleased how this turned out for a spur of the moment decision to go back to the Duke! I originally wanted to make more Kestrel variants, but ended up doing this instead.
