Description
The cockpit used in the Noble Series of units, such as the Noble Kestrel. I prefer sticking to a three monitor setup over a wide panoramic display for my cockpits as it just feels better overall, maybe some day I'll try making a 360 degree panoramic display but that's kind of hard to stick into a mecha when I'm trying to keep them around 15 meters. Maybe I'll try implementing one in my next frame type.
This one features a pair of flight sticks that can be pulled forward and backward (Which can probably be used to control forward or backward locomotion) with three triggers per flight stick. There's also your typical foot pedals. A bunch of manual toggles in the form of buttons are placed throughout the cockpit to control various UI features on the monitor as well as providing manual control over to several systems if the computer, located on the central terminal, is compromised. A lever on the right-hand side can be used to control thruster output or acceleration or both.
Multiple smaller monitors throughout the cockpit display additional information and read-outs. All screens are touch screens, while the physical buttons primarily exist for redundancy.
A pair of clamps are used in place of a seat belt to secure the pilot over the shoulders; both the seat cushioning and the cushioning on the clamps can be adjusted, as well as the seat's height and position, allowing for more variety in the size and shape of pilots that can fit.
In the noble series, the cockpit can either be accessed through a rear opening hatch, or in the case of the Noble Kestrel, from a top opening hatch under the head (Which causes the entire head and front torso to pivot forward). Different models can include one vs the other or both entryways, depending on design preference.
