<-- CLICK DOWNLOADI always loved the final bosses of Kirby games. It was nice to see Dark Matter return in Kirby 64. Everything has this cute, upbeat atmosphere, then suddenly you're faced with this dark, unnervingly abstract boss... I mean, in Kirby's Dreamland 3, he shoots blood at you! Talk about creepy!
Dark Matter has such an abrasive yet fascinating presence in the series... In a world of surreal, cartoony fluff, Dark Matter presents some uniquely poetic elements that stand out in the Kirby universe. Really makes him a memorable boss, even if his different forms rarely have much presence in the storyline.
Also, the music in the fight against 02 was kick-awesome. Made the fight that much more surreal and epic.
Just tryin' to move along on my 20 with ~ZaxZero ...
it's desktop size... :3 download away! figured i'd do like the cool kids and put an artsy-fartsy abstract title into the pic...

Great tribute to the Kirby series. This is the most epic boss I have ever faced on a Kirby game( the game itself could have been better thou, but it's a nice game, with a great soundtrack, however, this 64 title couldn't surpass adventure or super stars in my opinion).
Btw,I have seen you are using a different style with the shadows. It's nice to see you experimenting with new stuff , but if you ask me, I prefer your olden style of shading.
Keep up the good work Arc.

Thanks man. What was my old style of shading, exactly? I've never really paid that much attention to my own methods... you mean like the cel-shaded stuff, like this? [link]

you know, that gives me an idea... maybe I could try mixing the textures I've been using with the drop shadows I used to use.
to the lab!

Nice. The darkness gives it that creepy atmosphere you get from such an evil being.

Yeah! That was such a fun boss. I remember how weird it was on the first encounter with O2. The background mixed with the music and a sudden 3D perspective really made the game warp into something intense. Makes me want to beat the game again!
Excellent job with this. The dark gritty textures express a lot. Otherwise you have it down.

Beautiful! As a fellow 02 fan, I think this is made of win.

I remember that fight. It really weirded me out.
You shoot the eye, then the halo, then the... wait, a root? o-o
Kirby 64 is probably the only Kirby game I've ever really played.

yeah, they get really trippy in that fight... My fave is probably still Kirby's Dreamland for the Game Boy.
