Description Here’s a couple of my other OCs: Mezadrionar “Meza,” a young Sun-Being prince; and his bodyguard, Adohan, a Star-Gazer warrior from the High Priestess’ forces. Sun-Beings, Moon-Fragments, and Star-Gazers make up the Light Children – one of the non-human races in my fantasy world, Omniaa.

Big story dump up ahead! Feel free to keep reading if you’d like to know the context of these paintings

So, just like the majority of my stories, Meza and Adohan’s is on hiatus while I work on my other trilogy loll However, I got the idea to draw two particular scenes from their story; the context for both is that Meza and Adohan are on the run from people who want to take over the Sun-Being kingdom. They run south, getting closer to the desert. This is pretty bad for Adohan, since Star-Gazers can’t survive under intense and powerful sunlight – they’ll vaporize to death. Stars don’t appear during the day, after all.

That said, Star-Gazers can walk around in mild sunlight, which is how Adohan is able to be with Meza and guard him. Sun-Beings sleep at night; Star-Gazers (and Moon-Fragments, for that matter) are the opposite. So yes, Adohan’s sleep schedule is completely screwed loll

But back to the story! Adohan starts to vaporize, so Meza does something that is heavily frowned upon in all of Light Children society: he reflects the sunlight away from Adohan, giving him time to solidify and find shelter. All Light Children have the ability to absorb light (ie Sun-Beings absorb only sunlight, etc). They can also use the reserves inside them to shine a light on things, so to speak. But it’s nearly taboo to turn away their source of light. Meza does this to save Adohan’s life, and succeeds. Yaaayy!

In the second painting, Adohan teaches Meza how to turn away starlight (and vice versa). This is pretty much a first for all Light Children, kinda like how Toph invents metalbending for the first time XDD In my world’s legends, the stars were created from the light of both the sun and moon; and in the real world, the sun is also a star (So yeah, I haven’t decided on whether Star-Gazers should be able to reflect moonlight too hahaa)

And that’s all for now! Thanks for coming to my little story talk
