Edelgard helped Rhea down from the desk, the uneasy alliance of the two tiny women holding strong. Both knew they had a long way to go in their quest to find help. The closed door to Seteth's office was just one of the many obstacles they would face. Fortunately there was just enough space underneath for both to squeeze through.

Edelgard subconsciously made the act of squeezing under the door into a competition, a little race against the littler archbishop. Even with her larger size making it a tighter fit, Edelgard managed to get to the other side of the door first, smirking to herself as she stood back up. Though the fact that she had to confirm with Rhea where best to go next took the wind out of her sails a bit.
“Should we head towards the audience chamber?” Edelgard asked, pointing down the hall.
“Yes. Seteth should be there.” Rhea nodded. “Knowing of your situation, he is the best equipped to assist us.”
“Very well.” Edelgard agreed. She followed Rhea as she led the way.

Having to slow her steps once again to keep pace with the smaller Rhea, Edelgard felt a little annoyed. But she was more preoccupied with the hazards that the two of them could face, out in this corridor.
When I ventured out of Hubert’s room and into the dormitory hallway, I was lucky not to encounter any cats. Edelgard thought. The chance of finding such a creature in this hallway is likely lower, however the risk is still there…
It occurred to her that supersized rats could also be nearby, scurrying around the hallway. Such a thought made her afraid to even be on the ground, the tiny woman wanting to run back into the office and leap onto the table. Instead she just kept quiet, feeling herself turn pale.

Edelgard was snapped out of her trance by a clump. Unmistakably the sound of a footstep, though it was somehow a bit… Different.
“Someone is coming.” Rhea told the larger woman.
“Indeed. Perhaps they will head towards us.” Edelgard hoped.
“In that case, we should get their attention. They will undoubtedly help us.” Rhea said, before a second footstep sounded out. It was clear that the noises were coming from the stairs but seemed to be lacking in co-ordination.
“These footsteps… Could they be...?” Edelgard suspected she knew who it might be staggering up the stairs.
“You likely assumed correctly. Professor Manuela must have been out once again.” Rhea sighed as further clumsy steps echoed down the corridor.
“But it’s barely after noon.” Edelgard said.
“Yes, it is rather early for her to be inebriated.” Rhea agreed. “Hopefully, she will still be able to notice us.”
“Indeed.” Edelgard agreed, but she felt a lot less optimistic.
Even if she does somehow see us, how would she react? When sober, we could give her quite a shock, but when she’s like this…
The massive Manuela spun into the corridor, throwing herself against the wall to remain upright. She paused for a few moments, attempting to stand up straight.
“Oh… Oh my. She is in quite a state.” Rhea remarked.
Manuela pushed a foot forward, before shakily pulling away from the wall. She swayed back and forth, her arms wobbling as she shambled forward.
“I’ll never find the one for me…” She mumbled to herself, hugging her bottle of wine as she staggered closer and closer to where the tiny women stood.
Her movements were unpredictable, her legs crossing as her feet stomped randomly across the width of the corridor. Rhea froze in fear, only now was the sheer size of the drunken teacher hitting her. Edelgard, marginally more used to interacting with giants, moved to get her attention, waving her arms as wide as she could manage as she called out.
“Professor Manuela! Professor Manuela!” Edelgard shouted. Her words appeared unable to provoke even the slightest reaction from the tipsy teacher, Manuela continuing to stumble obliviously down the corridor. Edelgard stood her ground, even as a gigantic shoe slapped down mere inches from where she stood.
“Edelgard!” Rhea sprang into action, seeing the other foot shake into the air. She dashed for the shrunken student, grabbing her arm, and pulling with all of her strength. Surprised, Edelgard moved with the smaller woman. It was only thanks to Rhea’s intervention that the massive foot missed her, stomping down where she had been just an instant before.

“Ah!” Edelgard cried out, the force of the formidable footstep knocking her over. Clinging to her arm, Rhea toppled over with her, the two tiny ladies sent to the ground. Rhea propped herself up, watching as Manuela wobbled into the infirmary.
“It seems there was no chance of her noticing us after all.” Rhea said.
“Rhea… You saved me…” Edelgard gasped. “Thank you…”
“Think nothing of it.” Rhea smiled. “I could not simply stand by and allow you to be injured.”
Yet you had no qualm about crushing me in your hand not too long ago… Edelgard remembered. Still, she found she was genuinely thankful for the archbishop’s assistance.
“It is clear that we cannot count on assistance from Professor Manuela.” Rhea said. “We should seek Seteth instead.”
“Indeed. Only…” Edelgard glanced down the corridor, towards the open doors that revealed the audience chamber. “I cannot see Seteth from here.”
“Worry not. Seteth will surely be in the side room.” Rhea reassured her. She stood, dusting herself off. “Now then, shall we proceed?”
“Yes.” Edelgard nodded, getting up and stretching to twice Rhea’s height. She subconsciously wanted to remind herself that she was still the bigger of the two of them...
