Description
The Aphirs rifle is a long-standing commission I've had. One of my Freeworlds friends, Fragarach/Nasigno (depending on the timeframe) asked me to 'develop' an alternative form of anti-armor weaponry aside from the rockets and mines that we have all seen.

Thus did I create the Aphirs rifle. The name is derived from the original acronym: Armor Piercing Heavy Rifle System (APHRS). One vowel and some long hours drawing later, the Aphirs came to be.

The original model looked more akin to the Harkonnen cannon from the manga Hellsing, and that looked a little too cheesy/blocky. It also mounted a shoulder harness that rested on top of the shoulder, padded, and meant to keep the heavy weapon steady and easier to use. On top of this 'bar,' as it were, was a tibanna gas canister that looked something akin to a paintball gun CO2 canister; albeit longer and thicker. It also had a rather large scope -similar to NV scopes' size- and a battery recharge wire running from the muzzle to the rear, which would help maintain battery life and increase rounds per battery/cartridge.

The Aphirs-2 is sleeker, lighter, but still packs a powerful punch. Features listed from left of the rifle (stock) to the right (muzzle):
-Recoil-absorbent cushioned rifle butt.
-Tibanna/battery cartridge (the yellow cylinder is actually a plug for a larger portable battery, about the size of a car battery; that would convert the cartridge primarily to a plasma converter).
-Fire-mode selector (stowed under panel on top of stock).
-(Top) High-powered scope with alternating rear-sight (can click into a position to the left or right of the rifle's meridian); can be manually or computer zeroed.
-(Bottom) Solid-shot magazine; eight rounds.
-(Top) Electromagnetic accelerator pins; infantry-grade railgun capacity.
-(Bottom) Adjustable-length bipod.
-Muzzle brake; reduces flash signature and recoil on the shooter.

Estimated stats:
-Effective Range: 4 miles or about 6.5 kilometers
-Type: Laser Cannon & Solid Jacket anti-materiel
-Bullet: .75 HE round; explosives-grade tibanna encased in durasteel shell
-Energy: Tibanna-catalyzed Laser Cannon
-Base Armor Penetration: 55 mm Durasteel Plate
-Combined AP: 90 mm

Energy and solid rounds may be fired separately or synced, depending on target, range, requirements, and availability of ammunition. Stats are estimated, so feel free to comment with more appropriate adjustments, keeping in mind that this is a sci-fi concept, and not realistic (it is Star Wars-based after all).
