Description The Madir Arsenal "Dragonfly", favorite small starfighter of the Crescent Armada, was the mainstay of the fleets of the Empire of the Terrene for almost a hundred years, from the last century of the Second Age of Light to the first few decades of the Third. Thinly-armored and only modestly armed, its most notable characteristics were its compact size, superb handling and incredible speed in and out of atmosphere, which more than made up for its shortcomings. Swarms of Dragonflies in the hands of stellar Armada pilots routinely decimated attack groups of Blackarons, Redarons and even the occasional Dreadship.

This is a very special Lego MOC that I just finished hashing together-- it's a spacecraft from my WIP sci-fi universe, "Tales of the Terrene", and one of the signature ones at that. Like most of the ships and vehicles from the Terrene, it is horribly complex with lots of smooth organic shapes, making it easy to draw but nearly impossible to build. I had tried and failed several times to design a decent-looking Dragonfly in Lego, and up until yesterday afternoon I had completely given up all hope of success. It was when I was fiddling with the wings on a store-bought Lego model that I suddenly realized that all the parts I needed to do it, as well as a perfect design to start from, had been tipped into my lap.

The model is a VERY heavily modified Lego Swarm Interceptor. The bottom set of wings (most of them anyway) and the way they attach to the fuselage were retained from the kit, and pretty much everything else was built up around that assembly. I'm not a hundred percent happy with the design (there are some things that just don't match the source design), and I may go back and change some things, but for now I think it's close enough to pass.

One more thing off my list of Lego projects to do... I've got to find some more to work on.
