That part in the episode kind a freaked me out when I first saw it. It gave me that horrific feeling of dejavu. Though it's always had me curious; since when during the time of the machines' rebellion did they started making robots that looked exactly human in appearance? And how did those guys know she/it was a robot?

My guess is that humans started creating human-like robots. Why? I'm not sure, though a 'sex-bot' doesn't seem that far off the mark. (anime like Armitage III shows that) As for being able to spot her in a crowd, I don't know. Maybe by her skin tone/being outed by someone who knew she was a robot, etc.

Sounds reasonable to me. Although I think they would have been able to spot her easily with dogs. Like how dogs were able to sniff out Terminators.

Never saw dogs in the short besides the robot murder. I think dogs became used to robots if they were around them long enough. It was still a messed up scene, and I can't help but feel bad for a fictional robot girl!

I felt bad for her too. They ganged up on her before they killed her.

Yeah, pretty brutal. I guess what I didn't like about Second Renaissance was that humanity was too one-dimensional. There were a few humans willing to work alongside the machines, but they disappeared. I think the short could have had much more impact if it show how complex humans can be. Even with the most divisive events in the world, there's more than one side. Hell, look at the US for the past year and how divisive it can be.
