There is a strong spiritual connotation in this image. It is an abstract mother and her child, Mary and Jesus, perhaps. I really tried to see this another way, but the circles became halos.

The child is cradled in the mother's arms, so much so that she becomes a nest. The mother's head is bent down in a nurturing stance, devoted, adoring. The colors are those of royalty, purple and golds.

They are placed on a black background which sets the two apart, raises them above the rest. I hope you see this, Rick. It would make a precious image for Christmas. It is beautiful.

i like the simplicity that you have here. sometimes, simple designs like this, speak louder than detailed ones. wonderful work!
