Description
So, recently I have started flipping through old tattoo magazines and cowering the internet for cool tattoo related imagery that I loke the look of. Then I copy them in my sketchbook. This way I can figure out how the piece is constructed and work on my technique at the same time. All in the interest in learning and bettering my work.About this Piece:
This is an awesome tattoo by Amanda Ruby [link]
I really liked the detail and shading in the tattoo and it was something I really wanted to work on. So I started copying it down and by the end I started to really see how the shapes were constructed, but by this point it was to late to correct any of the minor errors I picked up. It then became a shading exercise.
Tools: 2H & 2B Mechanical Pencil, Soft brush, Putty Rubber
Please forgive the roughness of the image as it is for my own learning and not as a presentation piece. And go check out Amanda Ruby. Her work is awesome.
Enjoy
