Grant couldn’t believe how lame he was, sitting at a bar alone. After so many failed attempts at wooing a girl, he’d finally given up. He had found a spellbook online that supposedly had a spell which could turn a person of his choice into his dream girl.

Grant was skeptical, but his desperation won out in the end. He even tested a simple water creation spell in the book and was surprised to see that it worked. Fueled with a new sense of determination, he knocked out his roommate Leo with a sedative-laced drink.

As he stood over his sleeping roommate, Grant had a brief moment of guilt, but it was too late to turn back. He read the transformation spell, and waited for the change. But the change didn’t happen. Dejected, he went out for a drink, hoping Leo wouldn’t be too mad when he woke up.

The night dragged on, but Grant’s luck changed as a beautiful woman entered the bar. Her clothes were a bit plain, but she had smooth, chestnut-brown hair tied up in a white ribbon and deep blue eyes. Surprisingly, she walked right over to Grant and introduced herself as Elaine.

Grant couldn’t believe his luck. Elaine seemed to be genuinely flirting with him and she was exactly his type. He didn’t even mind that she seemed to be passing him drinks. He could vaguely recall bringing her to his apartment, but everything else was a haze.

When Grant came to, he was shocked to see Elaine standing in front of him. More shocking, though, was the fact that his arms were tied to his bed.

“Oh, good. You’re awake,” said Elaine. She started reading from the book in her hand. It sounded a lot like the spell Grant had tried to cast.

“Sorry to burst your bubble, Elaine, but the spells in that book don’t work. Now let me out of here!” Grant replied, relieved that Elaine had picked the one spell that didn’t do anything. Elaine just smiled.

“I can personally assure you that this spell works. But seriously, though? A spell book? How sad can you get, Grant? You could have asked me, and I would have done whatever I could to help you find someone. I thought we were friends.”

Grant was thoroughly confused at these remarks.

“It looks like I’m going to need to spell things out for you. I’m Leo. Remember me? You left me here to wake up as a girl? Lucky for you, I’m nice enough to leave you awake for your change instead of giving you the shock of waking up with a completely different body.”

Grant was still confused, but Elaine refused to say more. After a few minutes had passed, a faint sparkle started at his feet, working its way up to his head until it completely engulfed him. Grant felt an intense pain that forced him to cry out. It almost sounded like Elaine had screamed too.

When the light subsided, Grant was face-to-face again with a smiling Elaine. She crawled over on the bed and placed her hand on Grant’s chest. To Grant’s horror, her hand stopped short, and he felt the alien sensation of her hand squeezing something soft that was attached to him.

“I’m so glad this worked. Although I’m a woman now, my preferences haven’t changed, so you came out nicely. Sure, the spell made me attracted to you, but my mind is still my own. Luckily, that part helped me sell the bit to you. So, how does it feel?”
