Description
I was playing with fluffy T. rex ideas. I'm pretty pleased with this concept. Plus there is a generic soldier for scale, so that's cool.Older T. rex Drawings

Winter coat.
Keeps 'em warm and less visible to prey.

maybe i'm just holding on to nostalgia. some dinosaurs, like raptors, look badass with a full coat of feathers. but my main man t-rex; WHO WOULD BE SCARED OF THIS FLUFFY BASTARD?!?!

you, when you realized he was towering over you with rows of sharp teeth that can tear you open in a heartbeat.

Not this fluffy. Today the trex has a medium sized patch of feathers on its back, tail and hands. With scales covering its face with a throat pouch on its neck, there was naked skin (No scales or feathers) near its um.."butt" and stomach areas.
The 2018 trex is a mix of feathers scales and naked skin.

First point, this illustration is 4 years old and very out of date. Second point, current scientific thought actually has come back around to completely scaly T. rex. Feathers are no longer considered accurate.

completely scaly is just not possible

Not according to Bell et al 2017 rsbl.royalsocietypublishing.or… and both Scott Hartman and Mark Witton. Completely scaly is not only possible but is the most likely.

well if it is possible trex would something like elephant kind of hair on the top of his head. and arm areas.

here is the evidence for everything suggesting trex hand some sort of feathers on its body

Hahaha yeah this is exactly what I thought you were referring to. Trey is a great guy and does his best but is not always up to date. Not only that but this video is almost a year old so it can also be out of date through no fault of his own.

Feathers and scales can coexsist on a dinosaur's skin. Most people just say feathers are not real due to the "Jurassic park" thing and even if tyrannosaurus rex was Non feathered a jurassic park rex is still no where close to the real tyrannosaur including the funny "Stand still and it will not see you" thing. There has to be. The only reason this is happening is due to media saying that A tyrannosaur was scaly due to JURASSIC PARK and people do almost anything to get that scaly movie monster real. A Tyrannosaurus rex was mostly "partially-feathered, partially-scaly". A patch of scale impressions was found on the tyrannosaur skins and they assume it covered the whole dinosaur's body.

I think you must think I'm someone else. Here is some of my feathered T. rex work Unfortunately both of these depictions are no longer accurate. T. rex is now thought to have scales based on this paper rsbl.royalsocietypublishing.or… . Please know that I am conversing with actual paleontologists about this. Trey is a cool guy but he is not a paleontologist.

Yes I have seen some of your amazing work. But there must be some form of feathers on the tyrannosaurus. Probobaly minimal amount of scales due to their large size. I have read the paper and I am saying this.

Okay well I've personally talked to the experts myself and that is not the case. Naked, scaly T. rex is currently the most accurate.

I think I have to side with Adikavita on this one, the paper even states that it has a partially feather covered body pyropuncherz.deviantart.com/ar…
