Join Africa-comic group!Okay, this picture has been roaming the internetz for a while, I drew it a couple weeks ago (as you can see from my signature, still indicating March '13) and uploaded it on Facebook first, but I liked it and thought I'd upload it here, too
When I submitted the test page for Africa I received loads of useful pieces of advice, one in particular, which many of you suggested, was to make Africa and Chui more different, because they looked too much alike.
Well, I've been working on that ever since. Can you tell Africa and Chui apart in this picture?
Please be frank, I don't get offended if you say you don't! XD It's very important for me that readers manage to distinguish characters, especially if the two main characters are so similar.
I also added a like of rounded spots on Africa's pelt, since I received the suggestion to vary her spot pattern a bit. How do you like it? ^_^

Africa and Chui are LEOPARDS. Not Cheetahs. Not Jaguars.
I know that cheetahs aren't this bulky. Because these two AREN'T cheetahs! XD

Well not quite, Africa looked a lot more muscular in her first design, and she had many spiky fur tufts that clashed with her overall roundness :3

I never really had trouble telling them apart xD
I don't know where people are getting off on the "I can't tell what animals they are" or "I can't really tell what gender Africa is" though >.> If you can't tell what these two are, you need to stay away from comics involving large cats. And I think you did a great job with gender clarification, in your style. Chui is blockier, more pointed, sharper angles. Where as Africa has all smooth lines and curves.
I suppose for those nitpickers, you could maybe round her eyes just a little more? But don't make her thinner or more dainty, you got these cats so pretty X3

I understand that people might get confused regarding their species, I understand that they may confuse them with Jaguars, because leopards and jaguars are hard to tell apart in real life too, especially if you're not too familiar with them. But confusing them with cheetahs, I don't know how that's possible
Then again, I think their genders are quite clear, especially if you look at them together :3 Then again, also in real life, it's hard to tell a male leopard from a female, because only size makes them different :3

Art is amazing. You can tell them apart easily. (my opinion) Not to be offensive in any way but it is a little difficult to see if Africa is female, but it could just be me... It is an amazing drawing of Africa and Chui and I love how their eyes and markings look.

i can totally tell the difference!
differences: eye colour, spot shapes(square and circle/triange) thick red line and thin red line... tail fluff nose colour,ear chippings,face shape..
