how do you know what colors to blend for the skin? Like do you have swatches? It's all blended so wonderfully

I just knew I wanted warm tones for their skins. The light source is a "yellow" sun so I decided to use "violet" for shading.
They're complementary colors.[link]

Of all the pin-ups in this series, this has to be my absolute favourite. While it may not be as revealing as some of the others, there's an intimacy between these characters that I find incredibly appealing. We know precisely what's going to be happening between them (SEX ON THE BEACH!!) so there's a story being told here... and I love it when pictures have a narrative to them. The characters themselves are drawn wonderfully and the body language is spot-on. Julio is gazing at 'Star with those seductive eyes and we know what he's thinking. As he's peeling of 'Star's wetsuit, we see that 'Star's body is entwined with his. His hand is reaching around Julio and his leg is place between Julio's. It creates a connection between the characters. Of course, I love the little revealing bits of skin as well. From Rictor's hairy chest to Shatterstar's gorgeous back, it's allllll good! While this piece is INCREDIBLY sensual and suggestive... I have to say... Shatterstar's butt is totally the real star of this piece! That thing looks positively supernatural! *whistles*

You're descriptions are so spot on man, it's like you were in my head taking notes.
There are 11 characters in this, one of them had to be showing some back; even if just for the sake of putting them all in different positions; just so happens happens it worked really well for these two. And yeah, I got to add a nice butt.

Yay! Maybe I was in your mind taking notes... although, I don't think it would just be your art that I'd be taking notes on if you catch my drift. 
Nevertheless, I'm glad that I've been able to connect with your art in a way that is in-line with your intentions behind the drawings. I like being able to 'get' what the artist was going for and letting them know that their art is so much more than just two-word worthy.
