Is it flying or dying? The back lines could be wind or something because it's flying fast.. Or it could have just fallen and the back feathers are trying to keep up to the bird hitting the ground.. Maybe it's the birds guts spilling out.. The shoulder brings even more question... Either way, this is a really great picture. Good job.

Hatchet, i use Pen, pencil, charcoal
and photoshop to add pattern and mix every thing together.
If you like this texture use your hand and a good paper.
