I also thought it was a photograph. That's how good it is! I think it's a nice change from traditional drawings that just do a 3/4 portrait. This portrait really captures a "moment".

Great piece of work. Excellent detail. I love how you did the white strands of hair. I’d love to know the technique you used to accomplish that.

I'm not sure how she did it, but I can tell you two possibilities; one way is to just not shade over a predestined line (you know the strand will be there, so don't shade over that decided space ever), the other, is to take a kneeding eraser and make very fine points and pull the graphite (or in my case, charcoal) off the paper like pin-striping!
