Protagonist concept art for unnamed horror RPG (I took this picture with my phone. I will upload a better version once I am back home and have access to a scanner)

Concept:
I wasn't given a whole lot of direction for the protagonist, besides that he would wear a cloak and hood at first and later be able to wear light and heavy armor. I also know that he starts out the game at the bottom of a pit, and the goal will be to work his way back up to the surface.

Pencil on Printer Paper. The weapon I gave him is some form of a rapier, but a little bit broader at the base. Since his goal is to reach the surface again, I wanted to give his armor a bit of a "sun/sky" theme. However, as I was drawing it, I realized that Dark Souls already did that, and I didn't want to make him too much of a "Sun Bro", so I ended up making the sun theme very subtle. There is a sun on his weapon, some flames on his boots, and the clasp of his cloak has a sun/moon thing, that's about it. I wanted to put the night sky on the inside of his cloak, with stars and the moon, but it made him look too much like a Las Vegas magician.
