Hmph - this isn't a story - it's memory. Except you left out home nurse (who ends up dating your dad later) and hospice care. Or the other where he made a miraculous recovery, went to college and is now a psychiatrist working with families facing the same thing (I've been on both sides of the fence here - just haven't BEEN that fence yet).
