Description
I have a disorder called Dermatillomania. It is a skin picking disorder and something that has taken away so much of my freedom. I used to feel so helpless to it until I realized I could give myself a voice through my art. I call this piece "Perception" I hope that through my art I am able to spread awareness about this disorder and also give a voice to those who are also struggling with it that havent found their voice yet.

Perception is about seeing the same thing in two different ways. The same journey on the same road may be happy and beautiful for one but to the person next to them on that same exact road, it may be scary, treacherous and even hopeless. This picture is of me and my husband walking through life, I have dermatillomania, and he does not. He may walk beside me and support me and love me but he does not know what it feels like to struggle with this disorder everyday.
