The part about animals voting, going to school etc is the dumb part.
But as for the rest... it supports the stop to animals being used as products, test objects, posession etc.

Wikipedia is written by normal people online. Even I can make a wiki page.

BUT youΒ΄re still wrong again.
Animals CANΒ΄T vote, because they do not speak english. Animals have their own language, but it is not english. There are a lot of smart animals, but they cannot think further than a child! A small child does not understand what `laws` and `voting` means. I've never seen anyone yell: "Animals should vote, too!!" because an animal does not understand law. Law is made up by people. It's not part of nature and animals do not speak english.

animals should be afforded the same consideration as the similar interests of human beings.

The word: similar rights means that they have SIMILAR rights to humans. So you can kick the part about voting out. And because animals do not speak human languages like english, you obviously can NOT let them go to school.

I agree that PETA is a stupid organization because they kill animals themselves, but I've never even heard a PETA member say that animals should go to school and vote. Because they can't. Because they don't speak english.

With animal rights they obviously mean SIMILAR rights to human children or babies. A baby is not abused as a product and has the right to live. No one would vote for animals rights just so animals could go to school (where animals would feel uncomfortable) and vote (while they don't speak english and don't understand our laws).

And don't even start about the "rules" of the bible because they aren't facts, but that also it written by HUMANS, just like the law is.

I understand what you are trying to say, but like I repeated before, what you are standing up for is animal welfare. You've completely misunderstood what I'm trying to say. I know wikipedia has some false information, but it is usually taken off as soon as possible. Not only wikipedia says it, but a whole lot of educated websites agree that that animal rights are not the same as animal welfare.

Romaniya In reply to Flara-Chan [2010-12-07 10:27:35 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I support animal welfare.
However, I also support animal rights.
Because, according to you, animals can be used as TEST ITEMS just like black people and slaves were in the past. Since I am no hypocrite, I will never support abuse like that. I am against sadism, discrimination of everyone and everything.

Look, I understand if people hunt animals on a fair way for food in order to SURVIVE in poor countries.

BUT mass-breeding animals like products is NOT part of "survival" and "neccecary things" for countries like ours.
In my country people vote to kick the meat industry, that treats animals like products, out and replace it with farms where animals can run around free and live a good life.

Ok, I see what you are trying to say about animal welfare. But I still have to argue that animal rights isn't a good thing to support. I guess you could support animal welfare, without supporting using animals as test items.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Romaniya In reply to Flara-Chan [2010-12-08 09:53:43 +0000 UTC]

So I still partly support animal rights

But animal rights also shows that animals can't be a possession.

In the past people used to hit their children. And that was allowed, because the children were the partents' posesssion. But now they are not anymore.

Animals still are. When someone hits his dog, you can't do anyhting about it, nor take the dog away from him because the dog is "an item" and a "posession" of that person.

While you DO can take children away when their parents beat them.

"Even wild animals like wolves"
Why use wolves? I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, but why not say other wild animals. Wolves kill livestock not only for food, but for sport as well. So they aren't the most innocent creatures in the world.

That's right! I'm making an anti-animal cruelty minicomic now about sadists like that.

All animals live in harmony with nature except humans. (humans against cruelty like us, not included)

BlueTopaz72 In reply to Romaniya [2010-11-06 06:47:47 +0000 UTC]

Ya, you're right, i wish hunters or nazis or any people like them never exists!

I've always thought animals deserve peace, but us humans, we can solve our problems animals aren't like us, right?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Romaniya In reply to BlueTopaz72 [2010-11-06 10:07:48 +0000 UTC]

That's right. They blame all their own problems on creatures that have nothing to do with their shit: the animals. What did the animals ever do wrong? Why do they have to pay to satisfy the nazis?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BlueTopaz72 In reply to Romaniya [2010-11-06 10:24:04 +0000 UTC]

Exactly! animals eat other creature like how we eat animals, too.
I mean, just like how tigers eat gizalles, we eat other animals like chicken or others.
The hunters claim that wolves are very dangerous just because they're predators, but its their life and that's the way they are born!
If hunters want no problem they would've just separated the dangerous animals from the good ones, but did not, they kill them instead!!!
Why don't they just put them on a zoo or something, do you agree?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Romaniya In reply to BlueTopaz72 [2010-11-06 10:31:30 +0000 UTC]

Oh, so that is why hunters hate wolves. I was wondering why. But it's still no excuse to hate all wolves. The wolves are the ones who'd hate humans even more, because humans abuse everything and every creature they see. That's something very different than instinct.

Those who hunt for "sport"... I hope a wolf attacks them and they die!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BlueTopaz72 In reply to Romaniya [2010-11-06 10:37:08 +0000 UTC]

ya, but it's not necessary for wolves to like humans, i, myself, hate lizards and i dont like lizards to kill me for that!

as i said, wolves are born like that, if they hate us, including me, i dont blame these creatures no matter if they're dangerous, plus, all the animals, the dangerous, the good ones and even lizards don't deserve death!

Actually, hunters kill animals for trophy and more money, and to use their beautiful fur for the bags and wallets and others related!
Which that means, the animals and their fur are more than gold!

What do you think?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Romaniya In reply to BlueTopaz72 [2010-11-07 10:37:01 +0000 UTC]

I don't think a wolf can "hate".
Hate is a human emotion. Wolves don't "hate" other creatures. Wolves hunt other creatures in order to survive or to defend themselves when they feel threatened.

Those hunters sound like selfish sadists! I'd never kill any living creature of flesh and blood for money! That's sadistic!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BlueTopaz72 In reply to Romaniya [2010-11-07 12:18:57 +0000 UTC]

Ya, honestly, I like wolves very much because they don't do anything to humans when they're alone, and the surviving thing was exactly what i was thinking of!
but you're right, wolves possibly dont hate!

Hunters = Selfish ugly stupid people who hates others but loves themselves who have a big stomache for eating lots of food from animals and never give others!

I'm gonna smash these hunters!

sadly, i rlly cant.....

I said "start with a slant line" they said "I can't draw perfectly staight lines!". I said "I'll help you. Here, just put your pen down at the paper so the point touches the surface..." they burst out screaming and crying "I CAN'T DO IIIIIIIIIIIIT! YOU HAVE TO DO IT FOR ME! DRAW FOR ME!" I then stood up and walked away not even looking back...

Believe it or not, but it's 100% true. God, I hate children....

I believe that you are confusing "animal rights" with "animal welfare".
here is a definition "Animal rights proponents support laws and regulations that would prohibit rodeos, horse racing, circuses, hunting, life-saving medical research using animals, raising of livestock for food, petting zoos, marine parks , breeding of purebred pets and any use of animals for industry, entertainment, sport or recreation. Animal rights proponents believe that violence, misinformation and publicity stunts are valid uses of funding donated to their tax-exempt organizations for the purpose of helping animals. Arson, vandalism and assault are common tactics used by underground animal rights groups to further the animal rights cause. Groups such as the Animal Liberation Front, which have been classified as terrorist by the FBI, routinely use criminal activities to further their cause."

"Animal welfare proponents seek to improve the treatment and well-being of animals. Animal welfare proponents believe that humans can interact with animals in entertainment, industry, sport and recreation, and industry, but that the interaction should include provisions for the proper care and management for all animals involved. Animal welfare proponents support self-regulation of animal sports, including rodeo, polo, three-day eventing, FFA competitions, horse racing, field trials and endurance riding. Animal welfare groups utilize scientific evidence to base animal care and handling guidelines."

so basically, animal rights would allow animals to vote, and people would never be able to have pets, or eat any type of animal meat.
animal welfare would allow animals to be hunted FOR FOOD, and have animals kept as pets, service dogs, etc.

hope this is made clear to you ^^

Yeah I was going to put this in my journal but that would be supporting an animal activist, who actually just makes things worse for the animals...

Animals are sentient, but...they are really sentient enough to really need rights.
But should still be treated with respect and not needlessly slaughtered or hurt. So yah, off to find some animal welfare stamps

Very simple yet it says ALOT.

I admire the word your attempting to spread; unfournately I think it can both ways-
I beleive Animals should have their rights without a second of doubt. BUT! I DO-NOTY beleive it should go as so far as to letting them have laywers to sew us on such things- as politics are attempting to do today.
This is simply because putting words in a creature's mouth is asurb. Unless they ca make animals talk to make them sew us, I would agree to keep it as it is with finding evidence and locking up those proven guilty.

I love all animals, though I'm not a vegittairan- only due to the fact everything is a carnivore. It's all consuming another for life. Weither if it's grass, Seeds, or meat.

Flara-Chan In reply to ivyleafeon22 [2010-12-08 02:03:20 +0000 UTC]

Common mistake to make.
Animal rights would mean animals would have like, you know, Civil rights. People would never be able to own or use animals, i.e no pets, not meat, no wool from sheep, etc. Stuff like that.
Animal welfare would allow animals to be used as food and materials, but as humanely as possible.
