I feel like people should treat animals the same as we would treat each other because we all showed up at about the same time right?

I think many feel the same way we do. Which is why this is one of my most Faved Stamps to date: [link] Just thought I'd share it with you.

I know the economy isn't helping...it poorer parts, it's "either we feed the kids, or the animals. Not both." Guess who loses out? Also I run into macho types who think that pets should have a "sex life". I can understand that but for the good of domestic animals who end up dying in the wild or in shelters, I'd take the safer route. Besides, it's not "sex" like for us: it's instinct. It's a natural drive. You don't see animals making the decision to not have babies, like we humans can. They do whatever it takes to pass on their genes. People don't want to know that: they treat animals in an empathetic way, as if the animal has human feelings. (maybe they do.)
Oh for the record, many of our cats and dogs are shelter rescues. Only one dog didn't work out: she was neglected and was scared of everything. Nothing I tried helped.

I apologize if anything I said pisses people off. I don't have all the answers and I don't pretend to. We do need to be the voice of those that don't have one.

I can't speak of how right you are. But I will say one thing, ANYONE who mistreats an animal for no reason or for the fun of it, deserves to be beaten with a metal bat until they no longer have a face!

Darling can i put this on my page only i just signed the sickest petition ever.Apparently there is a new craze on the internet called 'crush videos' where women yep women crush little kittens to death with their high heel shoes for a sexual kick apprentley. I wholeheartedly support animal welfare, but not animal rights.
Animal rights, as promoted by PETA and the HSUS, is far different than the concept of animal welfare.

I actually didn't think about the difference. I'm not a member of PETA, but yes I like the idea of Animal Welfare and think I will make a new stamp when I get a chance.

I live in a suburban area, away from roads and predators that can kill cats, and my cats are only ever allowed in/near my yard. If a dog chases them they run straight to my yard and my trio of mighty mutts barks their heads off... at the dogs chasing them. They adore the cats. So yeah, I also support animal righs Although I prefer dropping your pets off at RSPCA... Because they find a suitable home and check into the owner's history. If you put an ad into the paper, you have no idea who will have access to your pets, it might even be someone who will want to shove fireworks up it's bum I adore this stamp anyways

Our humane society just turned into a sort of no kill shelter. If the animal makes it to the adoptions floor then it's not put to sleep. It stays till it's adopted.
I wish they could be 100% though in my area that would be a terrible idea. Not enough people donate money or time to the shelter. They'd go bankrupt and the animals would run the street instead.

Still I said all that to say humane society's aren't a bad thing they try very hard to do what they can. Some are better some are worse. We can make a difference so we should.
