Slenderman is of the race of Slender Beings; powerful creatures of unknown origins. Not much is known about Slenderman himself, only that he is deadly and powerful. He has been known to induct humans and other races into his service through a sort of rite of passage; a deadly challenge that can either end in the participant dying or forcibly becoming inducted into Slenderman's services.
"The 8 Pages" as it is called, is when a victim feels a sudden and anxious pull towards the deep, dark woods. Once they enter, they are transported to "The Slender Woods", a dimension of never ending, dark woods. Immediately the victim knows what they must do, which is to collect 8 pages through the wood as they are hunted by Slenderman himself.
If they are caught, it isn't well known what truly happens to them, but it is ultimately assumed they are either killed brutally or eaten by Slenderman. Should the victim win, however, if Slenderman deems them worthy, he will induct them into his services, which consists of bringing forth more victims, either to play the game, or for him to kill. It is unknown how he keeps his victims in his service, but it is assumed he uses some form of mind manipulation.
