'Oh let the bright lights enter your heart…' "Oh, shut up!" I yelled at the radio, slamming the off button at the same time. What sort of crappy song was that? It was out of tune, a really bad tune for that matter, and the lyrics. Whoever invented those lyrics was seriously lacking in the imagination department. I shook my hand for a bit, trying to get the flow of blood working again after I had slammed it into that radio.

Whoever was hosting that show had completely mislabelled the song. They had called the woman singing it 'a rising star' and had labelled the song as 'one of the best songs of the year and quite possibly for years to come'. What junk did those people listen to, to be able to say that it was going to be a great song? Spare my soul and at least let it float around the world away from this crap.

Rolling onto my back I stared up at the simple white cover for my light. I would have preferred blue but my parents refused. I picked up the book I had been reading before I smashed the radio and continued reading. The 'New Scientist' books were great.
"Hey!" A voice yelled up at me. My sister's voice. Groaning, I yelled back.
"What the heck do you want?!"
"How dare you speak to your elder sister like that? And what was that crashing noise I heard? You didn't break the radio did you? That's mine, remember that!" She shrieked back at me. Between her and the song I would rather listen to the song.
"Sorry, sorry." Just get it over and done with. I switched the radio back on to drown out her voice as she started talking loudly, so obviously on purpose, to try and annoy me. Between the terrible music and my sister I could clearly see my life withering before my eyes. There goes that.
