Description YOU'RE = YOU ARE [i.e. YOU'RE BEING STUPID]

YOUR = POSSESSIVE. [i.e. STOP FLAPPING YOUR MOUTH STUPIDLY]

Now then, I can't fathom how so many people fail this. I'm not talking about second language English folk, I'm talking about the native speakers. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

THAT APOSTROPHE WORKS HARD, AND YOU IGNORE IT.

AUGCHNDJKBCDSJKLJclds

/pet peeve.
Sorry for shitty animation. I was fired up when I made it.

You, sir, are awesome for making this. It’s not that difficult to understand, people. It really isn’t.

I’m not going to lie, though. I’ve become so used to seeing people fuck these two up so much that it doesn’t really bother me to see anyone saying “Your an awesome artist!” anymore. Sure, I still correct them in my head. But now, what really annoys me, is when people put “you’re” instead of “your”. Lately, I’ve seen many people write things like “I love you’re gallery!” and “You’re art is super cool!”. Really? Just…really? Do you honestly not realize what it is that you’re saying?

Actually, scratch that. The most annoying thing that I’ve seen people do a lot is say things such as “You’re gallery is amazing! I love all of your art!” in the same comment. I…have nothing left to say about this. Sorry about the rant, haha.

YES!

You could totally make a collection:

u≠you (Pry my BIGGEST pet peeve even about you're≠your!)
it's≠its
there≠they're≠their
to≠too≠two/2
for≠4
we're≠were
whom≠who (
Well, you get the point, LoL. Very nice!

Zehabix In reply to Zehabix [2011-07-22 05:31:39 +0000 UTC]

** . . . even above you're≠your!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Angelkitten2 In reply to Zehabix [2011-09-18 07:52:42 +0000 UTC]

but '**' do you mean those people that talk like they're in a rP or something?

ie;
thanks so much for the fav~! *smiles*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zehabix In reply to Angelkitten2 [2011-09-19 03:53:35 +0000 UTC]

No no. Double stars (**) mean a correction.

ie: Thanks so muc for the fav! **much

When I do a double star with a word and then another star (**________*) that denotes an action.

ie:**Coughing*.

Same goes for two/too/to, they're/their/there, we're/were, and the MOST ANNOYING ONE OF ALL TIME... then and than. >c

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LovableCat14 In reply to invaderzimrox55 [2011-07-23 00:38:28 +0000 UTC]

Then and than are very annoying, I agree. Personally, however, I think that it's and its are the worst. Very, very rarely will you ever see someone correctly use "its" as the possessive.

You make the best stamps. I love every single opinion that you willingly and fully express without shame or fear or anything.

BUT THIS ONE JUST TAKES THE CAKE.

Ugh, whenever I'm talking to someone and they put "your welcome" instead of "you're welcome"
I'm all:
BITCH I DON'T OWN A WELCOME

Awesome stamp, as always.

<_< Oh, yes...and it's even funnier when they type "your stupid" instead of "You're stupid."

...because then you can always respond with "My stupid what? "

Oi... Another one that bothers me is 'should of' and 'would of'... It's SHOULD'VE/WOULD'VE, or SHOULD HAVE/WOULD HAVE.
Not quite the same thing as your and you're, but still really bloody frequent... At least around where I live.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Applesauce18 In reply to MusekalBliss [2011-07-20 14:34:08 +0000 UTC]

I don't really blame people for this one (not that it doesn't bother me) when you say "would've," it does sound like "would of"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MusekalBliss In reply to Applesauce18 [2011-07-20 22:33:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know. I understand where the mistake comes from, but it's still really bothersome. 'Would of' makes no grammatical sense if you think about it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Applesauce18 In reply to MusekalBliss [2011-07-21 03:57:40 +0000 UTC]

i guess it's the same as Their and there. people just need to learn to get it right!
