That's a cute little life lesson there, even though I don't think it goes exactly like that in real life. Also, I noticed something:
In the fourth and fifth panels, it looks like wind is blowing back the hair of Katt and her father, yet the panels before that, their hair stays exactly the same. Even if the wind is blowing at a different angle, shouldn't that be apparant in the pictures?

You're right on that 
True, it might sound cute. But then again, what else would you tell a child? You can't exactly drop the bomb that life is going to be harsh and sucky at such a tender age, unless you want your kid toughened up that early. "Cute" lessons such as these serve as anchors to keep a person rooted through the stormy waters that come later in life.
