Description
So, kids. Sit down on the floor, I have a story to tell. One year ago, our heroine Niya began a portrait of the famous King of JPop, Gackt. She was quite busy at that time what with moving out of the old and into the new apartment, making a collab for a friend, learning for exams.
And it so happened that the portrait vanished into a box, being ignored for Niya had other things to do, mentioned above.
The portrait was quite sad but clung to the hope that some day Niya would remember it, grab her pencils and finish it.
But that day never came. Yet.
The portrait waited and waited and waited. It shrieked when suddenly an ugly yellow/brown stain appeared at the top of the sheet but its screams for help were not heard.
Days, months passed and the portrait gave up hope slowly.
Though one year later, Niya had the striking urge to draw portraits again. She searched high and low for paper when suddenly, a rumpled and stained sketch book caught her eye. She opened it softly and gasped.
Inside of it laid the portrait she began one year ago. It had sad eyes but re-awakened hope shone so strong that Niya could not resist. She carefully took out the portrait, grabbed her pencils and finished it.
But the sad eyes remained. She had broken it.

Oh wow, that's just beautiful. I never really understood why my j-rock obsessed friends love him so much, but I think I get it now. I mean, look at those eyes! Anyway, I don't ahve anything interesting to say because I just love this and that's that. Faving!

I don't know why he really looks so sad... but maybe my life at that point in time transfered into the picture. who knows.
the portrait says thank you shyly.
as if. in reality it jumps up and down and feels loved. <3 haha! *pats portrait*

AWW!!! Omg, I don't know why, but that's such a sad story! I'm over emotional for feeling so bad for this portrait! But it's so beautiful *Wants to hug him and make him feel better* I absolutly love the eyes, just everything about it is perfect! Great job!

in the ref pic he kind of looks a bit aggressive and "hey, come on, girl!" but for some reason I could not transfer the look of his eyes, they turned out sad.
some things should be treated like humans. with respect and love. art is one of those things. that I believe.

uhh... there's no secret how I make portraits. Just sitting in front of the computer, staring at a pic, doodling on a sheet of paper, zooming the pic on pc for details, drawing... that's all.

still, you make it look so smooth and all! It's amazing. If I didn't know better, I would have thought it was an actual photo not a drawing! That's how spectacular it is! (I'm running out of Synonyms for 'really really good') XDD

haha ^^
well, I work with little soft strokes and be careful with the texture of the sheet.
an excellent tool for a portrait is a cheap ballpoint pen. almost all of my portraits were drawn with one. you just have to be careful so no ink blob lands on the paper.

O_O;; I could imagin so.... T_T; I can't stand doing anything twice... dunno why. It's a pet peeve of mine... Doesn't that suck though? having to start something over again after having it perfect to your likeing and screwing one lil thing up?

AsylumImmaculate In reply to Kayoko-Sama [2006-08-26 12:03:33 +0000 UTC]
hmmm... see if this works out...
okay, so. I only have two versions of this portrait and the other Gackt one. and I drew a pic of Miyavi twice but other than that, I'm painstakingly careful. it's much more aggravating with my other pics (the anime ones). those I draw usually about two, three or more times.
of course it sucks but you have to pull through if you want a decent result.

this is a real story. I cut off that stain and glued the portrait on a shiny new sheet of paper.
the portrait says "thank you" quietly.
