Description
Inspired by reading up on identity in art and the idea of the world being your mirror and in a sense creating your identity by showing you aspects of it.Then I ended up taking pictures on our lanai one night with my roommate...
This rolled out
Might work the thought out on a future date!

I like the pose of the figure, it has so much to it, somehow, by the slightly tilted head.
I really like how the figure is just a silhouette against the colourful background, this leaves it much more to a mystery.
I think the composition could have been changed a little, by adding more of the background space, this would make it look even more of a "lost in yourself" thing. And it looks nicer to the eye then when you center your subject.
Evening out the black a little and probably make the streaks on the sky a little more blurred could also enhance it!

This was initially meant to be a skecth to a bigger better worked out piece but I was depsearte to do some art so pouted everything out in oil pastels on A4 paper.. not the best combination so a bad choice in media. Hence the rough black and colour. I usually take a little more care.
I did find it nice enough to post though even though someday it might end up in my scraps..
I think I'm done with the subject but hope to get the inspiration to revisit it!
I'm glad you like the idea of it!
not sure about the change on background space though.. I feel it would distance one too much. But we can have different opinions on that one!
Thanks for youtr critique!

the black and the blue make it a bit sad somehow. the clouds somehow, reflect a trouble aspect of identity..? I'm not sure. I think this is beautifull

Thankyou! I was planning a more elaborate piece but this was on my mind and I wasnt about to have any more time than I knew I had in that moment so this rolled out and took are of he notion in my head!
The sun was setting.. I'm not sure if this is sad. I just thourgh it was interesting to see how the shadow is upposed to leave the identity open but there are so many things you can still tell from what you see and do not see..
Just a fascination... Glad you like it!

I love the moodiness to this piece and those little flashes of colour as if from a glowing city below light up the drawing nicely. Well done.

It is actually a glowing city below Inspired by me and my roommate taking pictures on the lanai (balkony) one late evening. Then I got to read a bunch of things on identity and how the world mirrors you back to yourself and shaped you and a whole bunch fo other articles and then this rolled out! It is actually planned to be a bigger piece but I like the draft! It might eveolve though! Thanks for yet another fave!
