Description I'm taking a life painting class which is a little challenging as I have never really worked with oils yet, but definitely a very good learning experience. Am in a love hate relationship with them oils right now!
This was my second!

(he was scary and I was late for the first class so I got the best spot, (he had his legs wide) and he stared straight at me and would grin on occasion - I swear in this country I probably could have sewed him for sexual harassment! but then again, we artists stand above that right? I got pretty good at ignoring him and still painting him)

I was gonna say he looks cold and arrogant. Lovely tones on the skin, but something seems off with the face, maybe his gaze is different in each eye. The glass thing is rendered well, but I haven't any idea what it is.

What a difficult model!

you are correct! the eyes gaze in different directions! also there are some areas where I left the base tone, so he looks almost seethrough, I just enjoyed the effect it gave!
The glass thing was just a pole, I guess very useful for artreference it is fun to create seethough stuff!

and yes he was trouble, but I like how he turned out

difficult and creepy... I think the robotic look is also because I tried to focus on him in his neutral state the most LOL

Oh that does sound creepy, it makes it harder to say that this is my favourite of the four. It looks like you captured a bit of your uneasiness in his face and countenance. You worked the mixed hued shading in really well, and I admire the static yet life-like look to his posture. This piece easily stands alone as fine art. what is being held in his left hand?

I have to agree with you though! I am thinking that focussing on him just as a model took so much effort that maybe this is why he turned out better.. I really didnlt get distracted!
The green underground is actually acrylics, which was interesting too!
