Description
The final screenprinting project, I'm sad, it was a good semester and I learned loads. This one was pretty much free (although we had to fit it in the category portrait) Mine is a mixture between conciousness and unconciousness, a mixture from underwater dreams and a love for surfing, the sea and fantasy.
4 drops-all layers hand drawn or cut from rubylith
I think I have to thank my friend for inspiring me to venture back into the land of faery, it has been a while but it started with a dwarf mage.. who should be up here shortly...
Hope you all enjoy, final screenprint for a while!

actually I had doodled the design a long time before and had started making it in watercolou but it didntl work well.. I left it untill for the final screen printing class we got freedom of topic, only rule was: portrait which can be just about anything. So I perfected the design (drew som more fish) and started screening and printing glad you like it!

Crazy! I would never have enough patience to do something this wild. I honestly can't stand working with colors, but you seem to do wonders with them.

It helps when there are deadlines.
Colours.. ha if only you knew... I used to only draw pencil drawings. Co,ours are freaky because they cannot be erased! They still freak me out a little, but sometimes they can be manipulated to my will WHAHAHAHAAH!
thankyou!

Deceptively simple. The faces hidden in the foam is clever, it also has good contrasts. Not one to just look and pass on, or you'll miss much.
Don't know anything about screenprinting; was it much work?

I drew everything by hand first, then you make stencil looking things on screens with emulsifier that is sensitive to light.. after exposing you can wash out the stenciled area since no light reached there so it is still soft.
then you alight paper underneath and use something that looks like a windown cleaning wiper (no clue what you call those in english) and pull pain across (for every colour/layer)
If you ever get a chance to take a class on it it is soooo owrht it! it is a whole new way of thinking and approaching art!
Glad you enjoyed and took the time to really look for faces fishies and other motion!

Sounds fiddly! It's got a Japanese feel to it. I should have taken art classes when there; they are plentiful. I took pottery instead.
Heh, I can't take even life-drawing classes, there aren't any for adults here in Korea, just kiddies.

It is but once you get the hang of it it is very rewarding.
I got lucky enough to be doing a BSc in the US and so just took a minor in art, pottery included... best time I've had!
It is funny how little I know about Korea, but there must be something... maybe at a university you can sit in??

Good idea, I might ask my students who major in drawing that. I doubt it, though.

Damn, this is hot stuff.
See, I love the sea. Calm, choppy or thrashing, I love the sea. I guess I'm an elf (LOTR style...)
So this apparently simple design - which hides a work of movement and complexity - speaks to me. Actually it sings to me.
Striking use of colour without being garish. Curves a bloke could wet himself over (!), integration of subjects and objects, stylish and classy.
I'll download it if I may, to show my art group?
And, of course, it finds a place in my favourites folder, so I can include it in the parade of excellence already there.
Or simply have it as a backdrop to Debussy's La Mer.
I'd love to see you do something similar to Vaughan-William's 'Sinfonia Antarctica' - or perhaps a Gogal Bordello album!
Dank' !
Best regards
Dibb. (R.)

Thankyou for the comment..!!! I'll be doing more art as soon as I get myself time and space. As of right now I'm Uganda doing volunteer work so I'm absolutely xddistached fromt he mood of this drawing... It puts things in perspective a lot.
Download to show is no problem! Glad you like it! and debussys la mer seems like a good companion!
