^^^ did I spell that right?Rat 'snot' and such type tear fluids are tinted red. It's actually called, "porphyrin."
It was all kinds of crusty before his bath, a saline wash out, and warm cotton-ball compress. No medications were given or applied. He was almost all better 24 hours later. In this image he was only 'home' for about 6 hours.
