This photo still WOWs me! How did you get such superb lighting?

I looked around the yard, and looked, and looked... and when I saw the sun that day falling in front of the rock, I scrambled to get Windy to cooperate. I took about 70 pix b4 I got the one I wanted. lol This is the ONE picture out of all of those that I nailed. Not too bad. 69/1 was the odds. And I still win. lol

I know all about the 'taking 100 pics to get one good one' thing. Lighting is so vital to a good pic and, yes, its hard to get it JUST right.

I  just realized that Windy is not in my 'all time favorite soft mounts collection'.  Oh Dear!  He is now.

Welcomes.  I especially love the 'back story' on him.  Did I ever tell you that Michigan is my real home, where I was born and lived till about age 31?  I also lived in Michigan's Upper Peninsula area while I went to College (N.M.U.) in Marquette, MI.  I've been in just about every state of the Union (including Alaska) but I have NEVER seen more beautiful territory than there is up there.  Not even the Rockies.  And Pat and I will be camping there in Spring!  And we're meeting up with my Cuz Kel and her hubby Randy.  She and I are already thinking of things to do to get away from our menfolk and have FUN! Our Moms were sister (close ones-not like me and my Sis) and we've been Buds ever since we were in diapers.  She and I also attended N.M.U. together.  Life is good...... No, this is not Ev grabbing your boobs and ass!

LOL at boobs & butt!

I love the north, I just can't take the biter cold.

I've fallen in love with this area of TN. Culture shock aside, I get all 4 seasons without too much of any of the 4, and have the mountains, wildlife and rivers. Sure I miss moose and loons, but I'm getting over it.

You are so lucky to have all of that in your life. I can honestly say I am happy for you and yet not be too envious.

Hey, TN is gorgeous, too.  Mom and I, and then later, Pat and I, have rented cabins in Townsend, TN   'The Quiet side of the Smokies'  Here is a pic of the cabin Mom and I were both just crazy about  www.google.com/maps/uv?hl=en&p… ; Pics just don't do it justice!  It was simply a magical place.  The creek you see actually ran under Mom's bedroom.  It just had so many little 'nooks and crannies' and little 'hideaway' spots to curl up in with a good book. We had many a lovely Happy Hour in the gazebo out back either looking down at the creek or up at the mountain behind us.  I envy YOUR place.  Plus I sometimes wish  my son was living back at home with us, though since I can walk to his place in literally 5 minutes (or less) I gotta admit that it is kind of 'the best of both worlds'.

ACH! The image won't load?!

Ug! That sounds breathtaking!!! Next year is out 20th wedding anniversary... I may just put the bug in Ev's ear to go to THAT exact place!

...sadly, I think I'll do a jig when BOTH boys are out of the house. Sad I know... I just want "us" back - me and Ev.

Believe me, when Chris was at both those ages, I felt that way, too!  When he did leave home, I was so shocked to find myself very depressed-'empty nest syndrome'. It didn't last long at all, but I let myself feel it instead of of just telling myself it was  'stupid' to feel that way.  I honored the grieving stage, if you will. I took out his baby photo album and let myself have a couple of  "I want my baby back!" sob fests. This depression  did not last long at ALL. About one week later I was back to normal, wondering what the HELL cam over me! I think part of it was that I found myself focusing on every little thing I did wrong while raising him. Times when I got angry with him.  Times when I should of been enjoying his company instead of growling to Pat when he got home from work  "I've been dealing with him all day-now its YOUR turn!"  In the end, I realized that I was being a Drama Queen extraordinaire. I  was a VERY good Mother.  I was a stay-at-home Mom, and even though I made mistakes I truly love my little guy, and I think that if a child KNOWS that, in his heart, the little mistakes we make don't do any harm.   Sorry for the ramble!

He's so cute! I love that ear fluff! What kind of eyes were used?

Thanks!! ~ I had to add the fluff. His ears were piratically ruined by the tannery. I used red and gold metallic shark eyes, from VanDykes...about 3.5 years ago or so? You can see his tannery issues here if your interested:

Yikes! I can't imagine how you even mounted him! Lol! He's adorable though, and that fluff is just amazing! The eyes are so interesting!

Thank you!!

His ear fluff came from a messed up coyote face.

Yeah, I couldn't let him stay like that, or see myself cutting him up for a pillow or something else. After I saw a picture of him, I was in love. I had to at least try to make him whole. And determined I would succeed, I did. And he turned out ok! His eyes are interesting and unique, but I wouldn't use them again. lol. They were too flat backed.

Wow! Yeah, I don't blame you! I feel very odd about cutting up a pelt. He turned out sweet! I wanna see his eyes up close!

I'll look in my Windseeker folder and see if I can find a nice shot of his eyes. I am sure I've got one or two.

Here we go. I had just finished recently adding his eye moisture. I take close up pix to make sure I cleaned everything up well.  sta.sh/0bh457muz7x

LOL. Thanks. It's true, but Windy is a 3 year old work of mine, and my baby. So, I look past his issues. He has far more issues than just his ears. lol I'd never use those eyes in an up to date work however. But they are pretty cool. Thanks for the pointer tho.
