Description
The Howler is what hubby and I have come to call it. And OOOOWWWWWOOOO! It rocks!! ((Sta.sh WIP collage sta.sh/0480kenedt ))With the exception of the huge Wolf piece, surprise gifted to me from adarkernemisis.deviantart.com as a Secret Santa X-Mas gift exchange in 2011, (that was the main inspiration for this piece, And thanks again Nem!!!) The rest are coyote pelts and coyote pelt scraps and tails that I purchased and put together to make this blanket when ever I could afford to buy them.
I had to add "V" pleats in the edge of the fleece fabric underside in places to extent the edges, because if didn't have to, I did not not want to cut down all the skirts of the pelts to make them square. I mean, why should I? It would only make the blanket smaller, Right? I was going for 'cool,' not total perfection. I didn't even care if they matched either. I purchased what I could find when I could afford to, out of un-mountables. Most had no heads, or legs, or were only halves with no legs, or even had tails. This was entirely sewn and pieced together by hand. Even the fleece work and affixation. (<_< ? lol is that even a word?!)
I finally finished it in Sept 2013, and got to use it a LOT this past winter. MMMMmmmm, omg, it's wonderful!!!
Sorry for the pasty white chicken legs, those belong to my son who was then 15 at the time. LOL. For ref, He stood at 5' 10" there.
