Description
Ok. So, he's 23 years old (hit the Toyota showroom in 1992), and has a little rust now a days, he STILL doesn't have a new paint job or the full body kit I've been drooling over, annnnd he has a ding or two, annnnnnnnd he doesn't do shows, but he's mah main man! And for as long as I can physically drive him, he'll be maintained, and be MINE for ever and ever. He's a mini-tank with 'tude, and I LIVE HIM!!!!!P.S. He's a manual. So, yes. I'm a chick who drives stick! Do I suffer from weiner envy? ....possssssssssibly.

I have to be honest, I have never heard of a Toyota Paseo. This car is stinkin' cute looking, though! Reminds me of my Mazda MPV (don't judge me!). Very unique looking car, I like it!

Mazda MPV? Who's judging?!?! What color??? Now that's a CUTER car!
Paseo's haven't been made since 1997, and although rare, are not uncommon. There are 5 in addition to mine in my local area. Black, powder blue, dark blue, and red, and I think another white one. I recently saw the powder blue one up for sale, and saw someone buy it off the small lot the next day!!! They have been modded, and I am told are REALLY popular among drifters. People have gone and made them into convertibles, images.search.yahoo.com/images…
and show cars. images.search.yahoo.com/images… that's one of my faves!
Mine is cute, isn't he tho???!

Haha, '03 Mazda MPV in tan. It's cute, it's comfortable, it's a nice ride. I love it!
Rare has to be right. I'm gonna have to ask the boyfriend when he comes home if he knows about them. He's a mechanic and knows quite a bit about cars, not so much me. I'm a fan of the cosmetic look of a car. That's crazy! I actually think they look cute!
I love that black one. Holy... Wow!
Yes! Very!

Mazda is a nice car!! Tan is a great color too. I'm not big on blue cars unless it's near black. I also appreciate the comedic look of a car too. That's what drew me to the Paseo. I saw one in red, and said "I AM SOOOO GETTTING ONE OF THIOOOOSE!" And then got mine.
Via my dads lessons, I know more about my car, and benefit from it. It's amazing what issues a person can have from low coolant. I was having thermostat issues in the Paseo when I told my dad I was going to get a new one. My father said, "...duh, have you checked the water level lately?!" > I reluctantly said ...."nnnnnnnnnoooooooooo." Because i relied on the dudes who change my oil to do that. Dad told me not to count on them since they do a fast job of it. He told me to check the overflow. I added 3 cups of distilled water and viola, the issue was fixed. *face palms* The water was a little over the low line. I guess my car is touchy and needs the water to cool. lol I got a "told you so." from my father. LOL
As far as rare, I purchased my car in Milwaukee Wi.. It handled like a gem in the snow because it's front wheel drive, but down here in TN, they seem to be far more popular, because you can just zip around in it. Zhon told me they are pretty popular out by her too. But mainly among those who mod and race them. She's been a big help to me and my car.
I'd be interested in what your bo has to say about the Paseo. Wish we were closer, or I'd pay him under the table for some work I need to get done. lol
Thanks. I truly do love my car. It even has roll down windows. LOL

I don't typically care for tan but it works on my mini van. Congrats on getting your car! It's so so so unique!
Hahaha! That's too funny! I've always wanted to learn about cars, I have been to my boyfriends garage numerous times but for some reason, it doesn't sink in. It's something that just doesn't seem to get through to me. Maybe I just don't care enough. Though I think it would be pretty neat to learn how to paint em and fix em up on their physical appearances.
I have never seen one. I swear on my life. I will keep my eyes out now, but I've never seen em. I have never even heard the name. We have a lot of modifiers around here, driving old toyotas and hondas but still... Never seen one like yours.
I am too. I'll have to ask him. Haha, I wish you were closer too! He wouldn't mind working on your car for you under the table. He's actually pretty impressive at what he knows. He doesn't know EVERYTHING just yet, but he's learning and it's crazy how fast and good he is at it. My father, his boss, and all the boys at the garage always tell me how amazed they are so he must be doing something right!
LOL! YES! I'm so used to newer cars because my family drives livery (they own lincoln town cars), and I have my Mazda, it was actually kind of a shocker when my boyfriend showed up to my house with first his old red cavalier that was stick with roll down windows, bahaha, and since that one crapped out, he has a white jeep cherokee '96 or '95 and that thing is beat to all hell. It's funny but it's actually a really fun experience. Though, I can't stand driving that jeep.

Thanks!!! I got my can in 1996 I think... One owner b4 me.
I was working on my car and deep within the center console I found an old receipt dated 1994, gas was only .86c a GALLON!!! It would be roughly $10.32 for a full tank of gas!!! - @
If I could work on the cosmetic fixes and paint jobs too, THAT would be sweet. I wanna learn how to weld and do candy coats!!!
Down here there are a LOT of car shows, at least one a weekend, with seriously classic cars. Fords, old pickups, I'm talking about cars from the 20's and earlier. And hotrods, and even dune buggies all decked out. And the paint jobs and overall rebuilds are totally amazing. But I have YET to see a Paseo that's been worked on like that. I guess most Paseo owners don't see the potential in them, from my area. But when I Google them, people have gone as far as to mod the doors so they lift or slide open like a scapula....
Your bo sounds awesome. And good for him being able to figure that type of thing out. I'm the same way for the most part. I don't 'get' the new cars with all their circuit boards, and voice recognition etc. To me, a car is supposed to be fun transportation, with the added comfort of AC and a cassette player. LOL Beyond that, I think cars have gotten WAAaaaY too complicated and expensive to fix.
I have heard that those jeaps are fun to drive because they HAVE to be controlled by the driver, I personally like that aspect in my own Paseo which is 'power assist' - but with the Jeep, it kind of 'beats you up.' ?
LOL

Wow! Nice!
Haha! Oh how I wish that were true now! I think it's $3.90 right now for a gallon. Talk about rip off!
YES! I would love to be able to paint and fix cars. What an interesting and amazing job that would be, and the finishing product is always just simply breathtaking! Fresh car paint... Mmm!
We don't get too many shows! Maybe there are ones I don't know about, it's hard to find them. We have one every Saturday in the parking lot across the street and there's a lot of classic cars that attend but nothing that really strikes my fancy. Would love to see some muscle cars or something out of the ordinary. We do have one show that's huge every June but it's usually a bunch of bozo-headed corvette drivers (I am not impressed by new chevy corvettes in the least bit). I admit, I wouldn't know what to think if I saw a Passeo. I would probably be confused! Hehe. I like the ones you showed me! I'd love to see cars like that get some love every once in a while.
He is awesome and I love him dearly. Oh my gosh, don't even start on new cars! They made new cars a bit too ridiculous and complicated. Just sitting in one is a headache. We did rent a Chevy Malibu 2013 last year because his car broke down when he was out in Ohio. It was a very smooth and nice ride and nothing complicated looking about it. I'm not sure about under the hood but it was a nice car. So I have that appreciation.
Jeeps... I don't know how to explain a Jeep other than fun. They're amazingly fun to drive and ride. They certainly need control, but they can survive nuclear wars. Hah! Gosh, his Jeep is beat to all hell but he's been offroading in it and all that kind of manly jazz (before he met me). I admit that I hated the thing at first but it grew on me. Even if it's a junker.
