Here's my character for 's Y2 challenge! This is my first OCT. I'm excited!

The Trainer
Magnus Mortlock
Nickname: Magnus, Big Mag (though he hates this one), sometimes Max or Maxie
Sex: Male
Gender: Male
Skin: tan/bronze (he gets a lot of sun)
Hair: spiky golden blonde--mostly short with two stupid bangs that stick forward against all odds
Eyes: bright teal
Body Type: jacked
Appearance: Very carefully composed, since his line of work depends on it! His body is thick with well-defined muscle, cultivated for looks first and strength second (but don't underestimate the latter). His body hair is pretty much entirely waxed off at all times. Though he isn't a dirty guy, he smells like body spray. He usually wears a clingy muscle shirt that emphasizes his pecs.

Personality: Driven, cocky, friendly, and tough. He doesn't tolerate lies or bullying, and will go to great lengths to stop these acts. It isn't hard to like him, since he's quick to laugh, but he isn't the "cuddly soft" sort of friendly. (He'll punch you in the arm and laugh with you about it, and he loves wild parties.) He has a bit of a selfish streak and often doesn't remember to think about other peoples' feelings before he opens his big mouth. He was a spoiled child, and is used to getting his way, and sometimes he isn't sure how to act in social situations due to lack of socialization when he was younger. (He doesn't always play nice with others.) Sometimes he'll relentlessly hit on random women, and sometimes he'll ignore them entirely. He never gets any action, though.

Goals: Wants to be a renowned strength trainer and an awesome Pokemon battler, of course! His main dream is to be a gym leader in a real gym--benches, weights, and cardio equipment all!

History: Magnus was obese as a child, and was generally ostracized by his peers. Even when they would reach out to him, he would refuse to join them, and so became a bit of a loner. His parents spoiled him until his mother grew ill. When she no longer was able to dote on him, he grew up a little, and pushed himself to sculpting himself into his current shape. He left home after high school, getting a bit of a late start on his Pokemon journey. He travels around gaining publicity and raising money, which he is trying to save up to fund his dream gym. Much of it, however, ends up being spent on food and Protein (it's expensive to maintain such massive muscles) or being sent home to help his parents along.

Magnus followed BFOI during the latter part of its first year, when the legendary attacks made the news. He was made a good offer by Valkyrie Industries for his services as a trainer and a strongman, though he wouldn't lay his life down for them (nor for the Frontier Initiative, for that matter). He's in Ohana to help spread his name, make new contacts, and earn some money while he's at it.

The Team
Domine (Dom) the Machoke
Female, Sassy Nature
Personality-wise, Domine is very friendly and outgoing, but also very competitive. (Much like Magnus himself.) She is proud of her strength and isn't hesitant to show it off in battles and competitions. She wears a black cloth choker with a golden teardrop pendant around her neck, indicating that she has a more feminine side. Of his current team, Domine has been with Magnus the longest, and has a number of minor scars from past battles.

Domine also wears a chest-wrap that matches the normal Machoke attire and has dark red eyes.

Renegade the Jolteon
Male, Hasty Nature
Magnus bought Renegade as an Eevee from a "pet shop" in Johto. Most of the other Pokemon there were bred as companions, but Magnus saw a spark in Renegade's eye and knew that the pampered life would never suit him! As soon as he could afford it, Magnus evolved him into a Jolteon. Renegade is Magnus' youngest Pokemon, and perhaps the one most blindly devoted. He does his best to seem utterly fearless, but has a bit of a cowardly streak in the face of true danger. He is impatient and rushes everything, often taking on challenges far before he is capable of handling them.

Volkan the Charizard
Male, Rash Nature
Like many other Charizards, Volkan is prone to fury and hot-temperedness. When Magnus caught Volkan as a Charmander, his existing team was much stronger than him, leading him to develop a bit of an inferiority complex that lasts to the day. Even now the Charizard often feels like he has something to prove, and will get very angry if he's underestimated.

Volkan has large wings for a Charizard and is very adept at flying, capable of surprisingly deft maneuvers for a Pokemon of his size and bulk. Magnus' main method of transportation is to ride Volkan around.

Goliath the Dragonite
Male, Lax Nature
Goliath was easy to catch but hard to train. He's incredibly lazy and enjoys eating more than anything else, especially salty and savory snacks like potato chips and cheeseburgers. Motivating him to train is a constant struggle that Magnus only accomplishes with the excessive use of treats and rewards. Goliath is extra heavy even for a Dragonite, his little wings barely able to keep him aloft. That high body fat does make him especially buoyant, however; he loves to surf and gladly carries Magnus along for the ride. This isn't to say that Goliath is weak, however! Underneath all that squishy padding lies a very powerful core... think "strongman" instead of "bodybuilder!" Goliath has grass green eyes.

Halberd the Steelix
Female, Brave Nature
Halberd is the guardian of the team, both mentally and physically. She has a selfless and almost motherly attitude towards Magnus and the other Pokemon, and would lay down her life for any one of them. Generally she is almost impossible to anger, though she does have one instant trigger: Renegade being in danger. Though she is protective of the rest of the team as well, and would immediately back them up in a fight if they needed it, Renegade's youth and naivete trigger a much deeper protective instinct in the massive Steel-type.

Physically, Halberd is quite average for a Steelix, though her long protruding spikes are much sharper, like spearheads. Her horns are shaped almost like axes, alluding to her name.

Tank the Donphan
Male, Lonely Nature
Tank is a very quiet and unassuming Pokemon. He has a very long fuse and is difficult to rile (though not quite so even-tempered as Halberd), and is cold and efficient in combat. Magnus doesn't know that much about Tank, having befriended the Pokemon when he was fully evolved and seemingly quite old. He is rugged in appearance, with many scars. There's a lot of scarring on the right side of his face, and his right tusk is partially broken. Tank's tusks are impressive and he's fairly large in size, implying that he could be a herd leader, though Magnus found him wandering alone instead. Sometimes Tank can be seen gazing off into the distance as if lost in memory.
