ELLS'RAA THE MARIONETTE

No one can ever be sure exactly where the entity known only as Ells'Raa comes from. Its name has been whispered in fear among many of the more knowledgeable cults, sorcerers, and mystics. It has been summoned throughout the ages for many a hideous task, and if it despises its work, or revels in it, it makes no sign.

Ells'Raa has the appearance of a lanky, long-limbed marionette, standing over 15 feet tall at full height. Knotted black cords extend from its joints into the perpetual shadows which always surround it. It is unknown if the cords control its actions from some far, dark place, or if the creature is in full control of its own movements. Its torso shows signs of being badly damaged, yet Ells'Raa seems to pay it no mind. Long rusty nails are impaled through its surface; portions of its wood-like hide appear burned. Long black chains weave around its form. Oddly, the lower body of Ells'Raa appears completely unmarred. A thin scar snakes down over the left half of its face and through one of its emotionless eyes, revealing a blood-like, ichorous substance underneath its surface.

Ells'Raa has the terrifying ability to appear inside the nightmares and fears of those unfortunate enough to be the targets of its wrath. It then wraps itself inside the minds of its victims, slowly whittling away at their sanity until they are nothing but lifeless husks. It has demonstrated this ability on a great number of people at the same time, and the extent of its reach is unknown. Ells'Raa is only vulnerable in the corporeal world, and even then it is unknown how exactly to kill it, judging by its many wounds.

Be wary of your nightmares. For if the Marionette finds its way into your mind, pray death will come swiftly.
