Description
Here's the last pre-war Beyondverse character ref sheet! (For now) And this is about the Military Commander of the Cybertronian Elite Guard-Magnum!!!Beyondverse Magnum's design is heavily based on the original Wings Universe design, Soundbluster 's and MeekerV8 's respective designs on Ultra Magnus, and Seeds of Decepticon's Magnus by Tf-SeedsOfDeception .
Taking inspiration from the Wings Universe, Magnum and Dion are both fatally damaged during the middle years of the Great War and are saved when their sparks are combined to form an single entity-Autobot City Commander Ultra Magnus!!!
The insignia for the Cybertronian Defense Forces is based on the Cybertronian Security Force led by Ironhide in the original IDW continuity.
Overview: Originally, Magnum never wanted to be in a leadership position, but his years in Cybertron's best military academies installed a need within him to prove himself capable. He's demonstrated his leadership skills time and time again, even (and especially) when leadership meant leading by example. Now he serves as the hammer-wielding commander of the Cybertronian Elite Guard, and one of Sentinel Prime's, later Optimus Prime's, closest lieutenants. He's more than capable of whipping even the worst disarray into military discipline, though he can get rather hung-up on protocol. Regardless, he's rightly feared among the Ascenticon/Decepticon ranks. During the middle years of the Third Cybertronian Civil War, Magnum was critically damaged during a battle. In order to save him, Magnum's spark was merged with another to become Cybertron's Greatest Warrior....

- "It's a honor, sir."
- "The decision has been made, soldier. So, mute it and follow my orders!"
- "Optimus...it...it was...a honor serving alongside you."
Personality: Magnum embodies the ideal soldier model: obedient, respectful, meticulous, competent, loyal, and patient. Forged as a soldier of the Protectons during the waning years of the Second Cybertronian Civil War, Magnum has seen his fair share of battle throughout his lifestyle, becoming a hardened veteran of the aforementioned war, along with the Border Wars, the Combatron Wars, the Six-Cycle War, and several minor conflicts during the Age of Renewal and the Age of Order. His experience and valor as a member of the Nova Cronum Defense Force during these times eventually lead him to be handpicked by Nominus Prime himself to serve as a Planetary Security Chief and Sentinel Zeta's second-in-command within the Cybertronian Elite Guard. A by-the-book soldier, Magnum believes that a good Elite Guardsmen is one who's obedient yet noble, one without any personal ambitions. His modesty not withstanding, he possesses enormous potential, that sometimes pops up without his own realization: gifted with a sophisticated (albeit immature) intellect, he sometimes proves himself more competent than his superiors and ends up drawing his own conclusions aloud, embarrassing the Elite Guardsmen who still haven't fully understood the matter at hand. In his position, Magnum loves the opportunity to right wrongs and smooth imbalances. There's nothing he despises more than a uneven match. Always polite and placid, Magnum can also be strongly stubborn: when dealing with unruly subordinates, especially those within the black ops unit known as the Wreckers.
Weaponry/Equipment:
- Hammer: Magnum's primary melee weapon is a Hammer that he uses to swat away any nearby Decepticons and other enemies, charging it up to do more damage if necessary. After Magnum and Dion are combined together and reformatted into Ultra Magnus, the Hammer is extensively modified by Ratchet, Wheeljack, and Perceptor to become the all-mighty Stormbringer.
- Claw: During the Battle of Tarn-Hauser Gate in the legendary Combatron Wars, Magnum lost his right hand when battling a Combatron-allied Musume. After surviving the battle, he was given a makeshift claw to replace his hand. Magnum was able to master his new appendage's dexterity, sometimes using it as a melee weapon.
- Rail Gun: Magnum has a rail gun integrated his left arm that he can use to blast at his enemies. He also originally had a rail gun in his right arm, but he can no longer summon it after his right hand was removed.
- Energon Dagger: Magnum has an energon dagger integrated his left arm that he can use to stab and slice his enemies. He also originally had an energon dagger in his right arm, but he can no longer summon it after his right hand was removed.
Weaknesses: Magnum's straightforwardness leaves him open to deception and manipulations, even if his insight can often divert them. His stubbornness can lead him in predicaments that he is ill-equipped to deal with.
