I just heard about Mega Man 10 a couple of hours ago!! Woo!!!So far they are saying you can play as Mega Man, Protoman AND some other character yet to be announced. A lot of people think it may be Bass but I'm hoping Roll finally gets a chance to put the hurt on Dr. Wily.
Anyway, I just had to scribble this out

Roll may have already done so in Mega Man 1 Powered Up for PSP. but powerd up not considered canonical by many fans.

There are a few games on PSP I'd like to see on other consoles and/or Steam and that's one of 'em.
Though if I recall seeing art for it, yet again Roll gets stuck with a broom.
I'm a square guy, I smoke cigars and drink scotch but even to me it just doesn't seem right that Roll gets all the stereotypical girlie accessories with which to make war.

Nice work on your quick sketch. I've never been into MegaMan myself but I can appreciate the line arts. Do you plan on cleaning the lines up?

Thank you sir, Mega Man is kind of a religion for guys my age. Like if I talk to you and you're around 30 and you say "shit dude, Mega Man 2 was hard" it's like I know you.
As for clean up I don't know, I am severely doubting my inking abilities lately.

You're doubting your inking abilities? Man, I think you're pretty good at inking... I liked the Courtney that you did from Total Drama Island. She looks exactly like she does in the cartoon. So if you think that you skills are not up to par that I hate to guess what you thought of my skills. Seriously though, I know I could use some improvement and if I find any tutorials I will let you know. Hope you will do the same when you update your journal.

TDI is extremely monodimensional and robotic for my tastes, I really want to expand out of the "flat" UPA style because it holds little interest for me. For ages it's all I wanted to draw, getting my hands on the right tools helped me do it but I realize now that I've lost something along the way; organic flow.
To me perfecting art styles is the journey, I'm no professional I'm just a nerd that has an insatiable curiosity for style, I feel an exhilarating pride for works I've done that have a good sense of solidity, flow and a touch of personalization and I feel a deep shame when I look back at works that seem very stiff, flat, immobile and impersonal.
It is unavoidable that I see flaws in my own works that others don't see (or even enjoy) but I gotta evolve and while I feel I've built up my talent for sketching & construction I've neglected the more technical elements that bring cartoon artwork together (inking, painting, layout, design).
It's sorta like playing "whack-a-mole" with my skills!

I'm lost as to what you mean about TDI versus UPA stlye of inking. Never heard of the abbreviations and I don't know what they stand for. Can you enlighten me?

UPA or the United Productions of America was an animation studio known for a very specific style of artwork and animation. When you see Total Drama Island you see someone trying to emulate that style.
