Probably expensive to collect for blu-ray.  DVDs were outrageous!

They weren't so bad actually, not compared to other series I've bought on DVD/BD

That’s true, but the Blu-ray’s are a better value in my opinion. I just remember with the Ranma 1/2 it was anywhere from $75-$100 for a box of that. They finally went down to something a little bit more reasonable like $45 but that was almost after a decade of being out on the market.
