Description
An assignment for my Web Animation final. Animate a scene with: two tweened characters at least, a music track, lip sync, voice, and the characters must interact.---------------------------------
Aha, it's finally done. Still, not my best work ever, as it shows I was a little strained for time, but it's my first actual finished thing.
There's probably a good number of people who won't appreciate the flash in-jokes, but at the very least, I owe it to Josh and Noah for pulling off some very entertaining voice work, because I never got tired of watching this over and over for test plays.
Voices are as the titular characters and lefthandedsock as the hypocrite bartender. Thanks for the help! [YAY!]

It's so true, especially the changing proportions part.

This is very amusing, I love FBF and Tween fights. Even though you were strained for time, this turned out very nicely done, I hope you got a jillion A+!
To Tomamoto: You're an awesome voice actor, always a laugh on NG! A jillion A+ to you too.

I stood here long after the animation ended just listening to the background music. It's certainly bestter used here, indeed. Anyway, excellent animation, moved to vector myself, I can see myself being torn between the two animation styles in a distant future. Gotta sort out the "learn to draw" part first.
Ah yes, and a and a
for you.

Awesome! I have to say, seeing two characters of totally different animations interacting with each other is intriguing to watch...and especially amusing.

What are you talking about? I'm still doing it. In fact, a lot of people are still doing it.

It feels sooo true. I'm currently learning traditional animation at SVA. After understanding the methods and seeing tweened shows like 6teen, Total Drama Action, and Stoked...it's the sad truth. FBF seems like an obsolete method to the modern day audience.

Uhm.... you missed the mark sorta. They have their pros and their cons. I love traditional, but ask anyone who does it in Flash and they'll tell you it's extremely hard to draw the same perfect line, since flash is a vector program, it tends to wobble a bit. But there are better programs that fix this, like ToonBoom (which I hear was used to digitally color some portions of Disney's Princess and the Frog).
But the obsolete thing, maaan let it go, you're starting to sound like John K. I know for a fact my little brother doesn't watch a lot of the tweened shows (only 13 years old and he's buying Simpsons DVD sets with his allowance). I know the designs leave a lot to be desired, but form what I've seen of stoked, they do a pretty good job of animating with what they've got. I don't like it very much, and a lot of animators would agree with me on that, but it's not like having it around is going to kill off anything like toxic waste.
On top of that, the school advisors here say that 2-D is coming back strong with the new tools being developed. So this is a time to be hopeful, rather than fall into line with John K's kind of bemoaning. The guy's just romanticizing about HIS past.

It's true that Flash, Toon Boom and the upcoming tools will help animators out, but sometimes I get the feeling some will tend to rely on the software doing all of the work more than the film and acting principles. Looking at Stoked, it seems the animators behind it must have learned traditional animation and film principles before going into the latest technology. (some of the surfing and tidal wave animation is pretty impressive now looking at it) Though someone who is new to animation and skips straight ahead into the latest of Flash and Toon Boom without learning the basic teachings of classic animation done on paper and film results in poor quality. Yeah, if people go in expecting the program to do the work, it's going to show.
As for that thesis film.... yeesh.....

These shows are pretty interesting. My top 3 are The Regular Show, 3 Dogs Band and SpleenStab. Which shows do you think will get the green light?

Dunno, so far I like Uncle Grandpa, but it's unlikely it'll get a greenlight.
But look! No flash! Or at least, if it is, it's not obvious

Haha, brilliant. The concept was hilarious and I'm totally with the anti-tween thing; it comes in handy here and there and is certainly helpful but for the most part I like FBF so much better because it feels less stiff.
The voice actor was great and really pulled off the characters well.
