You're not alone in that regard. Why they botched mHawke so badly, when most other character models turned out so great (facial hair and all), is just beyond justification.
That aside, your Hawke is certainly well done. It looks like you aged him just right, a bit more wizened, considering the time and events between Kirkwall and Skyhold.

I think everyone was a bit miffed. I was horrified that I couldn't re-create the DA2 Default f!Hawke... I MEAN WHY NOT EVEN CATER FOR THE PREVIOUS DEFAULT??? Now every time I create a Hawke in DAI I find something wrong with them 2 seconds after clicking "Accept" I hate it ,_,
But for some reason I love the Inquisitor creation... I even managed to re-create my DAO warden. Hmm...that makes me think...your Hawke would definitely be worth a modding project if someone would take it on, its entirely possible.
That said, your roughish, yet sharp style is enviable.

Hawke's state during the whole game is set to 'pissed off' and that's not my diplomatic hawke. (he's a mage yep. blood mage too, so.. ehem) and i couldn't give him his default hair and tattoo sooo..yeah. and my warden is a literal impossibility to create in the CC. x') I'd make my own mods if I knew how and my computer could handle it :'D

He's a very handsome Hawke, I have to admit. Your Hawke design, among many others I've seen, is the most memorable. I think it's the blood-red tattoo and the spiky hair.

It didn't show me the scars at first either but fortunately I didn't want any. Later when I got to the part where I recreated Hawke, I set the mesh+shader quality to high at minimum (low-end pc here) and boom, scars are visible. And it turns out my inquisitor has scars now too -_- oh well

eee? my sets are set lower than the core of the earth and i still see no scars..maybe they fixed it later than i created all my characters...? its odd..i so wanted to give my warrior some good scars, but i had to settle with a broken nose ...

u gotta set them on high then. if your system can run it, i was skeptical about mine but it didn't make the game more laggy so i don't know anymore. pff
