Description Hey guys I need your help. These are the rough gun designs I will be designing in Maya. Lemmy know which ones you like and possibly what I can change. I don't know a thing about guns, but I want to design something alien looking. I borrowd some concepts and ideas from various game gun references and sci fi tv shows Anyway thanks guys! I'll put into scraps later

OH these are supposed to be "never before seen water guns" lol

OOOO a call fer help, YuS!
ahem, hey bud. If your going with this list 2,5,8,and 10 seem plausible and have curved lines in the design (as opposed to more angular bends in lines). If I may I invite you to think along these lines for its design.
1)Guns are designed for hitting targets. they can look however they need to be to accomplish that. even concealing the obvious, that its a gun.
2)Unless its a standard issue, in that its commonly available, you can suit it to the personality and occupation/lifestyle of the user
3)Water is whatever its container is, it takes whatever shape is allowed it. It also needn't be large unless the user desires to carry lots of water.
4)It just takes pressure. While water can go from liquid to solid to gas by temperature shifts, its really pressurized water your probably going for. The pressure can come from the weapon itself or come from the user. (example , we can focus a semi potent stream of water with wind in our lungs and ability to funnel it through tightened lip //or a pinching mechanism in the device like squirting water from tightening a fist full of water. like kids in a pool ).
I don't think you need to reference firearm designs. Let your imagination get a workout.
Consider the character, the situation, the culture if need be, and the item you need designed will probably make itself in your mind.
Nice way to show your work and thoughts, the notes are done well. :3

oh, btw, that digital art rocket booster chair was pretty bad ass! Excellente!

Hey thanks for all your feedback it was super helpful. As I'm looking back on my initial designs I got to thinking about the pressure aspect and the supersoaker models. A lot of them have a pump action or a lever to build up the pressure so I'm thinking those might come in handy.

On Tuesday my teacher is going to take a look at them but I'll probably redesign a couple of them before that. I think I'm missing a bit of a narrative for them which could really add character so thank you for the advice. i just kind of went "h alien guns are sweet" and went from there haha. I can't wait to build a couple in 3D!
