This was a fun project on commission for my friend Dave, who goes by the name "Mr. Grimm The Sinner". There were a lot of ideas that we tossed around for this project. There's surprisingly a lot of directions that you can go with a title called "In My Own Prison" most especially when we consider a physical prison or one that exists solely in the mind. And physical prisons don't really have to be Jails or constructed by the government. They can be something as disturbing as a musty basement that some morbid people may have placed you in. Needless to say I decided to place Mr. Grimm in a psychological prison rather than a physical one. This piece was actually inspired by the loading/construct program in the Matrix movies... it's not a new idea, it's almost as if every commercial these days has some big actor in a strange white void talking about how great some random product is.

If you notice the pose that Mr. Grim is in is slightly difference than his reflection on the ground. It's hard to see but it's there.

For this being commission this wound up very minimalistic, which did most of the work for me. This project went fast. So it freed me up to play with the tatoos on his arms and make them darker by using the channels tab in the layers pallet
